Sewing at Mary Grace's House

Today was my quilting bee meeting. Our bee is called The Piecemakers, and we meet once a month at members' homes. Today we met at Mary Grace's house and worked on tiny tissue holders to sell at the quilt show boutique in June. They're really fast and fun to make and hold a small purse-size package of tissues. We got the pattern from Ami Simms' website. If you'd like to use it to make quick gift or boutique items, you need to send Ami $1 for the use of the pattern--then you can make all the holders you like. The $1 goes to help fund one of Ami's charities, St. Luke's Women's Center in Flint, Mich., which you can read about on Ami's website.

Last week, one of our members, Cyndi, had a birthday. Her friend in Japan (who is always sending Cyndi beautiful stuff) sent her this purse that she made.

Isn't it pretty? She also sent her a pair of earrings that she made (which I forgot to photograph) and this pretty handmade hanky.

You are so fortunate to be able to gather regularly and sew with friends. The little tissue holders are sure to sell like hot cakes at the boutique. Just adorable!
