Am I Biting Off More Than I Can Sew?

Well, I finally agreed to make banners for the church sanctuary. Various people have been asking me for a couple of years now, so after asking advice from He-Who-Knows-What-I-Should-Do (i.e., God), I told the pastor and the worship chairman that I'm ready. The first ones will have a Christmas theme and, hopefully, be finished by The Hanging of the Green ceremony in late November. Here are the designs I've decided to do.

These designs are from Bunkhouse Sewing.

The banners will hang on either side of the old organ pipes above the choir loft and be visible from the entire sanctuary. I'm tremendously excited about making them, and also tremendously doubtful about taking on such a big project, when I already have a lot to do. But I firmly believe that I've gone about it in the right way. I certainly didn't agree without a lot of thought and prayer. And with God's help, I know I can do it. This will be Job #1 until it's done. All other projects will come second.

I have ordered the patterns and will begin on the banners as soon as the patterns arrive.

Those are lovely, Susan. I have a friend who made beautiful banners for the Alaska Museum in Fairbanks, if you want I can give you her email. I'm sure she would not mind advising you. But God is a good advisor, too.

How fantastic of you to do this! Finding the pattern is half the work, and that part is already done for you. Now you have the joy of putting it together. (see, I would be agonizing over designing a pattern, making it different, picking the subject matter, etc)

Hi Suzie, I'm so excited that we've finally been able to talk you in to doing the banners. I would love to help or watch or something if I can. Teach me Oh Quilt Master! ;-) xoxo

Well, this is going to keep you busy for a little while. But then what are you going to do? :D
You will do a sensational job on these. Take care of yourself. Glad to hear you and the Sopher are resting this weekend and not traveling.
