Playing in the Dirt

Hydrangea_2

The two hydrangeas that didn't bloom last year are looking like they aren't going to bloom again this year. But the photo above shows that a third one is blooming. The young blooms look so delicate, don't they? Yesterday, I finally planted the lantana that I bought when Vann was in Texas, and also repotted a pink geranium.

I did this planting while Vann and Sophie went up to visit with Dr. Rachel to say "hi" and get more Pill Pockets. Sophie was very mean to Dr. Rachel--tried to hide from her, Vann said--wouldn't take a treat from her, and was just generally a bitch (literally). Now that dog knows that Dr. Rachel saved her life. Why do you reckon she wants to act so ugly? We're down to 1/2 prednisone three times a week now. And Dr. R. was very happy that Sophie was doing so well.

Oh Susan, I am so sorry to hear about you being under the weather! What a shame that you can't just stay home and crawl under the covers! Take care.

I hope you feel better soon. I can't imagine how terrible it must be to be plagued by such a debilitating disease. It must be awful.

I'm sorry to hear what a bad day you are having. I hope by now it is better! I really believe that stress can make you hurt more, even good stress (sometimes.) You sure have a lot on your plate!

I just love blue hydrangeas, I don't think they grow well here, never see any. Lantanas are a great favorite of mine, we have to use them as annuals here. I just got three good sized yellow tinged with orange ones to put in my big pots by the front and back gates and to hang over my new patio.
