The water looked calm this morning, no big waves, whitecaps, or violent breakers. So we decided to go shelling. By the time we got down to the water, the waves had kicked up just a wee bit and the shore breakers did require a pretty good foothold to keep our balance. But we were doing all right keeping our footing and harvesting some pretty neat shells. All of a sudden, Vann was down, rolling around in the water. Before I could get a good guffaw out, I was caught by the same wave and sent rolling too. Needless to say, we were both a bit embarrassed, although nobody really seemed to be paying us any attention. But we came back to the condo, took showers, and had waffles and peaches for breakfast.
Last night, we had steamed shrimp from Buddy's Seafood Market. Yum Yum! I boiled the Silver King corn that we got at Durbin Farms in Clanton on the way down. We both agreed it went well with the shrimp.
Wish Sophie were here.
