Ugly Quilt Challenges

Dog - 1

This is the donation cuddle quilt I made from my Brown Bag Challenge scraps. I really don't love it. I like the pattern a lot, but I'm just not a fan of the fabric scraps that were in my bag.

I think I've learned a lesson though. A couple of years ago, I joined a Mystery Quilt Challenge. For that one, I chose my own fabrics and followed instructions that the challenge leader gave us. When the quilt was finished, I really didn't like it. I folded it away and have never quilted it. (See photo below.)

So what have I learned? Stop joining quilting challenges.

Above is the challenge quilt from 2019. Not sure what the design is supposed to show: bats, frogs, radioactivity symbols? Whatever, I think it's very unattractive.

Both of your quilts would be well loved by kids and I know they're perfectly made since you made them. The red/black Batty quilt with the bats and bat signals (aka radioactive warning signs!) would really delight some little boy!

Methinks we all have at least one quilt that we've made that doesn't live up to our expectations. I know I do.

Hugs!
