Back to the Future

House - 1

If you've been reading my blog for years and years, you might remember when I started Rosalie Quinlan's dollhouse quilt. I don't remember exactly what year it was, although I remember that Rosalie gave me permission to share the pattern with blog readers who wanted make the quilt, and we had a sew-along. I never finished my quilt, although some of the sew-alongers did.

Well, I've pulled out the project today and am determined to finish it in time for my guild's quilt show in June. I worked on it for a couple of hours today, as long as my back and Skipper would let me. I'm about halfway through the block making process. I figure if I work really hard, I can get it to Lena for quilting before Christmas. I'd really like to hand quilt it. Maybe.

I'm calling the quilt "Rosie's House." Rosalie's husband Neil called her Rosie. I became Facebook friends with this Australian couple and got to know and love them. They subsequently separated and divorced, and I lost touch with them both. Rosie lost her battle with breast cancer and passed away in 2017. I don't know what has become of Neil.

Anyway, that's my project for the foreseeable future.

Love this doll house as it's just too cute! I have some itty bitty quilt fabric that I can send to you for the sewing room's wall quilt - if you want me to.

Methinks I'd put the clothes line in the yard and make that room a library instead.

Enjoy making all if the rooms in this sweet house.

Hugs!
