Millefiori Milestone Coming Up

Mille - 1

I have a few more stars to add to the last row of the first rosette in my millefiori quilt. I don’t think I realized this project would be so time consuming when I decided to do it. My fingers get sore and my hands cramp from the hand stitching. But I’m determined to see it to the end.

I’m watching old episodes of “Twilight Zone” while I work on this. It’s so fun to see the stage-like (high school play stage) sets, atrocious lighting, and pitiful acting. And it’s all in glorious black and white. I saw one episode yesterday in which Agnes Moorehead played a woman who lived in a shack in the wilderness. She was dressed in a shabby dress and dirty apron, her hair was messy--but then we see a close-up of her hands. Her nails are long and perfectly manicured, glowing with shiny clear nail polish. Her acting, though, was pretty good. She never said a word during the entire show, although she did do some groaning and screaming. The only dialogue was at the very end, when we learn the surprise ending.

But seeing all the old tv actors from my childhood is great fun. Some their names I remember, some I don’t. I saw Ronnie Howard (Opie) in an episode a few days ago. Jesse walks by sometime when I'm watching and just shakes his head.

Guess what? It’s raining. It seems like we’ve had rain for months. I don’t really mind, but a lot of people around here claim they're growing moldy. What I don’t like is drouth, which will likely follow this wet spell, if history repeats.

Back to stitching.

How glorious your 1st rosette is and you should be very proud of your progress and achievement. Applause!!

We've had no winter to speak of but today's forecast if for rain turning to snow. Time will tell.

DH was given the entire set of WKRP so we've been enjoying that but we also like the old black and white shows.

Hugs!
