Productive Day
I feel like I got a lot done today. All five quilt show quilts are finished and packed into their labeled pillow cases for delivery tomorrow. I spray basted Kathryn’s “Spooky” quilt and will try my hand at machine quilting it since it’s small. I hope to have it ready for her birthday in a couple of weeks.
I also got enough 5” squares cut to make a cuddle quilt from the Hidden Stars pattern. And I found my collection of 4” squares that I’ll use to make more cuddle quilts. I’m saving the Wiggles and Giggles for a little later. I wanted to do something quick so that I can get it turned in since I’m a quilt behind in my obligations to the guild.
I also got two loads of laundry done. Of course, now I’m paying for all of it. I’ve taken up position on the couch with Skipper, hoping the Mobic I just took will kick in before I have to start supper.
For the past several days, we’ve had caravan thunder showers here--clouds, thunder, and a soaking rain. Then the sun peaks out and some blue sky shows for a couple of hours before the next shower shows up.Several successive showers each day. My lawn in no longer brown, but bright green. So muggy, it feels like a sauna outside. So I’m staying inside.
Skipper is growling and barking in his sleep beside me. That boy must have some vivid dreams.

Well done in getting all of the show quilts ready to go before the turn-in date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! applause, applause!
Love the 5" squares you have out for the first cuddle quilt and hurray that you found the 4" squares for the next cuddle quilt!!
Have fun machine quilting Spooky. All those squares lend themselves to guiding you if you want to do diagonal straight line stitching in both directions. Your could do echo quilting around the cat and outward or (if you have a Bernina) use button 4 and set your stitch length to 2 for a tight wavy stitch all the way up to 5=4 for a lazy wider wavy stitch. You can stop when you get to the cat, or not. Practice a bit and have fun!
Storms here for the last 3 days, too, and it's raining now. It's a sauna outdoors with almost too much water in the air to allow for breathing.
Hugs!
