Blogging Memories

I created my first blog post on November 30, 2006. This is one of the two photos I posted that day. It’s a wall quilt that I made using fabrics that I inherited when my mama passed away the year before, 2005. It was a booger to make because it contains several hundred set-in seams. I used to know just how many, but that info is long gone. It now hangs in my spare bedroom upstairs.

Below is the other picture I posted that day. I remember that Autumn was a particularly spectacular one. I don’t think we’ve had another like it since. It was like God had poured buckets of paint all over the landscape. I have other photos from that Autumn somewhere.

Going back through blog posts from the past twelve and a half years makes me a little sad. I’m reminded what a cozy house I had created and and how neat I kept it. I’m accosted by photos of my little garden spots and potted plants, my pretty and clean back porch, the weedy areas of my lot that were once weed-free.

And Sophie....And Vann.

I had more things to say about blogging through the years, but I’ve managed to go all maudlin and sad, so I’m going to stop. I’ll stumble into the kitchen, whose floor has not been mopped in several weeks, have a bowl of cereal, then limp to the bedroom to see if I can change my sheets, which are long overdue. Enough of this!

Let the good memories warm your heart and soul so as you see photos of "then", smile. Pet Skipper and/or cuddle a cat (or two), wrap up in a quilt and have some sweet dreams.

The quilt in your guest room is incredible and lovely. Well done!

I still love your blog, your quilts, your home, your garden, and what you have to say. Blog on!

We've had rain for most of the last 36 hours and it is still raining with more in the forecast. If this keeps up, we may slide southward toward North Carolina.

Big hugs!

Everything changes, doesn't it? That seems like the only thing we can count on. I started my blog in February of 2007, and you were one of my first blogging inspirations and friends. I remember that quilt and those pink chairs and how I loved them.

I started blogging in 2006 (pretty sure) and kept it up until 2017. I practically
missed all of 2018 and have only done a couple posts this year. I have not back-read in a long time. Same reason I don’t look at photo albums. Maudlinity. Maudliness. 😌
