Old Red Hen

Hen

I just finished my second Farm GIrl Sampler block. Two weeks into the new year, and I have two blocks finished. If I can keep up the pace of a block a week (well, I actually made the first block in 2015), I'll have enough 6" blocks for a quilt just before next Christmas. Or if I experience a burst of energy at some time during the coming year, maybe I can get them done sooner.

I also replaced one of the stripes in the first of my Farm Girl blocks, the flag. I didn't like the bottom strip, didn't think it had enough contrast with the checked stripe. I like it better now.

Applause, applause!!! Isn't it fun to finish a block to your own satisfaction even if it means ripping a few stitches out? Also, part of the delight for your project is that it is being done in small bites. No huge rush to completion, so you can enjoy the process along the way. Nice!

Hope I can get myself back in gear as I've not sewn a bit since the new year started. It's weirdly warm for January here, so perhaps that's part of why I feel discombobulated.

Hugs!
