As promised, here are photos from the October meeting of Birmingham Quilters Guild. Our speaker, Irene Latham, author of Leaving Gee's Bend, was great; and the show-and-tell was inspiring.

BQG's 2016 Donation Quilt

The quilter who made these two quilts did so for her two grandchildren. The kitties are for her granddaughter, and the pups are for her grandson. The ears on the doggies are loose, and they're lined underneath with flannel.

This quilter used ties from her husband's coworkers to make a quilt to celebrate his retirement.

This block was our October block of the month. Our BOM chairman, Nancy M., made this quilt not just to illustrate the block but also to give to her granddaughter Olivia (or it could be her niece; I didn't take notes and depending on my memory is an iffy proposition at best).

One of the charming cuddle quilts that was turned in at the meeting.

I can highly recommend Irene Latham's book, Leaving Gee's Bend.

What a delicious and varied group of quilts your guild members have made!
Applause for your program committee, too, to have arranged for such a wonderful writer to be the guest speaker this month.
Hugs!
