All Work and No Play

Stithing
Not much stitching has happened here this week. But I did wedge in
a little time at the sewing machine this morning to get one owl
applique blanket-stitched.

Seems like this has been a very busy week so far. Then why have I not accomplished anything? On second thought, I have accomplished quite a bit, just not in the sewing room.

Grocery shopping, some housework (I got all the blinds dusted--for some reason, Anna never seems to do that), my laundry and Jesse's, and annual check-ups for the doggies (plus a grooming for Sophie). That's accomplishment, right?

I was proud of Sophie and Skipper. Both had lost weight, so we didn't get lectured. Sophie has lost almost 3 pounds, and Skipper almost 2. Now if only I could lose a little.

But I did get back to a little stitching this morning. While Anna was cleaning downstairs (her every-other-Wednesday visit), I got a little blanket-stitching done on the owl quilt--one owl, to be exact (see photo above). Only eight more to go.

That blanket stitching really adds a lot of character to the quilt. Have fun sewing the rest of them!

Love the look of the blanket stitching! I can just imagine the workout it was for your hands and shoulders to keep turning the fabric this way and that way so the stitches keep to the edges of the owl fabrics. Well done!

Cheers for all the other tasks you've accomplished this week, too. Every little bit and big bit helps.

I've decided to make a couple of pieced table runners as Christmas gifts for family, so am going to choose fabrics and backing to get started while it's still October.

Hugs!
