I just had an epiphany! Someone (maybe me?) should write a series of cozy mysteries about a serial killer who is also a quilter. We have already several mystery series about sleuths and detectives who are quilters.
This would be fun. Our killer's weapon of choice would be a rotary cutter, which she would use to slit throats of people whom she deems bad quilters--those whose points don't match, whose sense of color is askew, whose seams never measure a quarter inch. Or maybe even perfect quilters catch our killer's attention from time to time. For instance, one particularly perfect appliquer wins all the blue ribbons at all the quilt shows and always get her quilts juried into the best shows. Our killer (I think we'll call her The Rotary Ripper) is a pretty good quilt artist herself, and she's sick and tired of Miss Perfect hogging all the blue ribbons, so she draws a bead on her.
What do you think? Would you buy these mysteries?

Hooo - HA!!! Does this seem to be too close to the "quilt police" that we quilters assure each other doesn't exist?? Would quilt police be needed to catch The Rotary Ripper?? Instead of being a serial killer, would she be on a roll? If the killer was a HE, would his name be Mat?!! :)
I've probably committed the other quilting sins, but I have to agree with NO Polyester.

That sounds more than a little disturbing. Has someone been watching too much "Dexter"? Or perhaps been hassled by the Quilt Police? I have to say that if you write, I'll give it a read!
