Five Years and Counting

Dscf0040_1Today begins my sixth year in the world of blogging. (The photo at left is the first photo I published here.)

I can't even tell you how much blogging has meant to my life--all the friends I've met who have helped me through difficult times (especially the death of my dear Vann two years ago) and cheered me through the good times (like adopting Skipper last year), and helped me figure out puzzles and problems (like dating, which we're still working on). Thank you all for visiting me here at Blackberry Creek and taking part in my life through blogging.

My plan was to hold a giveaway or contest or challenge or something to mark this fifth blogging anniversary. But life has become pretty busy and complicated around here, and I didn't even realize the anniversary had come and gone until this morning.

So forgive me. I'll come up with a way to celebrate a little later. Maybe after the holidays.

Happy Anniversary! I love reading your blog. My favorite post was the one you did comparing the Royal wedding hats to different images. I've been following you for almost 2 years now :) Thanks for taking the time to write and create and share with us. You make the blogging world a better place <3

Susan - I wish I could share in words what your journey has meant to me. I have enjoyed each and every one of your blogs. You make me laugh, you make me sad, you make me hurt all over - you give me my world through someone else's eyes. I share your widowhood; I share your dog ownership; I share you trepidation of dating; I share your love of family and neighbors; I share your joy of church family; I share your attention to current events and sports events. Keep your writings going forward so I can know my story isn't unique!! I share it with you.

I'm fairly new to your blog and I so enjoy your beautiful work you do. It's fun to hear about the pups and walk with you in your trials. You're talented, upbeat, homey and I think we'd be friends if we lived closer than blogland! :)

Oh, Susan! We who read and love your blog (because we love YOU) DO not NEED a giveaway. YOU are the gift! Don't you know that, my friend? We bloggers are a community, and happily, some of the members of the community become really close friends. YOU are MY friend & I LOVE you! Congratulations on six years of blogging. And I want that tree, please! LOL!
