My I Spy charm squares (40 of each print) are ready to mail,
and I'll be doing that today.
I dropped the two muttkins off at Dr. Rachel's at 7:30 this morning for baths. Skipper is not much trouble to bathe, but Sophie is recalcitrant and stubborn and tries to get as far away from the sprayer as she can get. Bathing her wears me out and kills my back, so I've been letting her go longer than I should without a bath. When I found out I could take her to Dr. Rachel's for just a bath, I snapped up the offer. I took Skipper along for one too, so Sophie would have company. She really hates going to the vet. I know it reminds her of the ordeal she went through when she was so sick some years ago.
Anyway, I'm waiting by the phone and watching the clock now, anxious to go back and get my doggies. I miss them.
Today, I'm putting borders on my sister Ramey's Drunkard's Path quilt. Started the process yesterday afternoon, but my back said, "No way! I might let you do this tomorrow, but not today." Ramey works full time and says that she does not have time to sew the borders, so I'm doing it for her. The quilt is really pretty. I'll show you when I get the borders on.

What cute I Spy blocks!! I know they'll be well received by the quilters and by the many children who will enjoy these quilts.
Score on having Skipper and Sophie bathed at the vet's office. It saves you dealing with wet, soapy, squirming dogs and an entire bathroom clean-up afterwards. You're one smart woman!
I look forward to seeing Ramey's Drunkard's Path quilt when that border is on.
Rainy day here but have managed to draw the pattern for the flip and sew, quilt-as-you-go Harlequin Christmas Tree skirt I'm inventing. Please keep your fingers crossed this really works!
Hugs!

I have been pondering getting a dog. I don't know. I had one several years ago- a chinese pug- I loved her- she got out and got ran over. It just about killed me. So it is a lot to think about. I guess I am just scared -afraid of getting too attached.

How great to have someone else bathe your doggies! Our dog HATES water of any kind but after 11 years, is almost used to his infrequent baths.
I love the word recalcitrant, one of my favorites :)

Annie, I am like that about cats. I LOVE cats & it broke my heart each time one of mine died. I swore I'd NEVER get another cat after my last one passed away. Too painful! I'm not allowed to have pets here at this rental house, but what do I find myself doing? ACHING for a kitty-friend. The pain of loss is TERRIBLE, but the love and companionship, and even the MEMORIES, are better than not having a fur-friend. I hope you get a dog! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you do!
