Daisy went home last night. Lori and Greg came by and picked her up after I got home from Bible study. She'll be back for another visit in September when Lori and Greg go away to celebrate their second wedding anniversary.
Lori brought me a cd of old timey hymns played on a hammered dulcimer. I plan to give it a playing this afternoon while I cut some more Smackdown squares.
Daisy does the sweetest thing every time Lori comes to get her. She seems to know when we're all done visiting and that she's going home now, so she comes over to wherever I am and jumps up in my lap to tell me bye. She does it every time, just before she leaves to go home.
I got lots and lots of Smackdown squares cut yesterday while I watched the stock market crash. Anybody know where I can get a job as a WalMart greeter? No offense to WalMart greeters. I just think that might be the only job I could handle at this stage.
I haven't counted my squares, so I don't know whether or not I have enough to make the quilt. My modus operandi is to reach into my huge scrap bag and pull out a piece big enough to cut one or more 5" squares. I'm stacking all the pieces too small for squares to the side to give away or use some other way. When I get to the bottom of the scrap bag, then I'll count the squares. Maybe I'll have enough for more than one Smackdown quilt.
Well, I've put it off as long as I can: I have to go to the grocery store today. The laundry is overflowing the hamper and I'm out of laundry detergent. I'm also out of milk and almost out of coffee creamer--all the heavy stuff.
Have a great Tuesday, everyone.

Did you know that Walmart greeters are not allowed to sit while they work? I know I couldn't stand for that length of time.

Susan, she is adorable. You have to love that sweet little face.
I utilize the online shopping we have here. It is wonderful. Now, if they would just deliver it and put it away for me.

That Miss Daisy is the cutest thing. They really do have a sense about things, don't they? Some dogs are a lot smarter and more compassionate than a lot of people I know! My Gracie is my best friend and I'm not ashamed to tell anybody. That saying "Love me, love my dog" is true in this household for sure. Take it easy at the grocery store. Have a great day scrounging around in that scrap bag!

Susan,
Daisy is precious! Can't help but love a sweet furbaby.
I couldn't even be a Walmart greeter because I couldn't stand that long :) Have fun at the grocery store :( I hate to go too!
Hugs,
Donna

I'm sorry you're out of all the heavy grocery items, but really, how could ever run out of milk! It's the first thing I drink in the morning and the last thing I drink before I go to bed. The overflowing laundry wouldn't bother me at all!

My sweet Dai-Dai! She looks very good in red. I hope she thanked you properly for the comfy bed, Su-Su! She does love to come visit you and give Sophie and Slick Willie a hard time ;-)
Love you (woof)

Gotta have the coffee essentials! I will have to think about earning an income once I move. Just makes me tired thinking of it. I just want to work from home!

That's my approach too--cut until there aren't any more scraps! That's how I end up with 5 quilts when I only planned for 1.

What a cutie Daisy is! That little face is adorable and it's so sweet that she comes to say good-bye to you when she's about to go home. Sweet!
Today AMIL and I went to the library, then the grocery, then after lunch and a rest, we made Jalapeno salsa. This evening went outside and picked figs. Yep, the spoons are gone.
I want a work-from-home job. Anyone know of that kind of job for a reluctantly retired nurse?
From what's left of me - or spoonless me - sigh!
Hugs!

Add ME to the 'couldn't be a WalMart greeter' list! I can stand for a VERY short time these days. Of course, that accounts for my rapidly spreading posterior. Sigh. Can't be helped, though. Lupus & Fibro leave few other options. Hope you made it safely to the grocery store & back! I HAD to walk around Target yesterday, & as much as I LOVE that store, it FINISHED me! That, and the heat. Ugh. It made me happy to come read your last few posts (I'm behind) and see all the gorgeous quilty things AND the doggies! I swear you've turned me into a doggy person! Sorry kitties, but I HAVE to love Ms. Sophie, China-bound Skipper, and adorable Miss Daisy! Love YOU too, Susan!

ok..is a Smack Down quilt just made from scrape? Any certain shape?
I put off going to the grocery store for weeks, then when I go I stock up on essential..cheese, bread, peanut butter, bread, cheese sticks, yogurt, and more bread!!
The rest of the time I eat out or go through a drive thru.
I seldom cook anymore. I just don't like to.
hugs sharon
