I got six blocks made for my Smackdown Quilt. I worked on it yesterday, although that wasn't officially a part of the smackdown weekend. I'm glad I did because it looks like the rest of my weekend is going to be busy.
These blocks make up very fast and fun. I'm finding them to be a great way to whittle down my scrap bag. I'm thinking of making up a cuddle quilt from this pattern when I finish Debra's Smackdown. I have oodles and prints in my stash that would work for a kid's quilt.
Are any of you taking part in this project? If so, comment here so I can see your blocks.
There are a couple of pink squares in my blocks above; so I'm going to link with Beverly's Pink Saturday blog party. I haven't visited Pink Saturday in a couple of weeks and I need to catch up.
I'm thinking about all of you on the east coast in the path of Irene. Please stay safe.

If you want to send the snuggle quilts my way, I will quilt them too. I can donate all of them to the veterans for their kids.

Love the Smackdown blocks you've made! They are so cheery and delightful.
I'm not playing with the Smackdown challenge as we could lose electricity at any time. With the various medical appointments, jam making, and fatigue, I don't have anything prepared either.
Rain and wind are intermittent here this morning but we've been told everything will get more intense this afternoon and evening as Irene is at its closest to us. I keep trying to think of what I need electricity for and will wish I'd done if/when we lose power. Think I'll sew a 12" St. Patrick's day block together since it's been almost a week since I made the block parts.
Hope your busy weekend will be fun!
Hugs!

I am not into quilting. I do love them and own more than I need. Some vintage and some newer. Yours looks like requires a lot of work.
