I didn't finish. I have to make four more blocks, cut borders, and put it all together. But considering I had several other things that had to be done this weekend, and considering I've felt like warmed-over gobbledegook all weekend, I guess I did pretty good. I think I'll have this one finished for Debra by the end of the week.
One of the things I had to do yesterday was go with Andy to look at a house she had found, The Little Yellow House, as we have come to call it. It's a darling little cottage with lovely, shady, big yards and a price you wouldn't believe--just right for Andy. She decided to make an offer, which the real estate agent felt sure would be accepted. Now she has to work on getting a mortgage. Please pray that she is able to get financing that fits her needs. She has lived in her apartment now for 12 years. It's time my Andy got herself a little house. She's terrified; but so was I when I was buying my first house. But as soon as the papers were signed and the deed was done, I felt fine. I know A. will too.

You have made great strides in your quilt. You are on the downside now. On purchasing a home, it is the decision that is so bad. Once you do that, everything else takes care of itself.

Oh, another sweet yellow house! Fingers crossed and prayers starting for Andy's mortgage approval to come through quickly. How exciting!!!!
Yep, we're back on the grid. We lost power at 3:20p Saturday and it was restored about 4am today (Tuesday). This is FAR better than our experience with Hurricane Isobel in 2003 - 9 days without electricity and no generator = no fun! This time we had a generator. Better. I learned that a slow moving hurricane is the PITS.
Hugs!

I have a little yellow house, too, and the kitchen reminds me so much of my own. Especially the trim around the kitchen window. I have green shutters, too!
That's a great smackdown quilt - so colorful - can't wait to see it finished!
