Beeing at Sally's

Doris1

We had a great bee meeting at Sally's house yesterday. Almost everyone, including me, was late; but we jumped right into the festivities with no time wasted.

Sally had great refreshments, including a cheese ball to die for from Edgar's and some great pinwheel thingies. She also served a great green tea that she claims goes well with vodka, but she did not bring out the vodka to prove her claim. The tea was good anyway.

As usual, Doris had plenty of show and tell. The pretty little fan quilt at the top of the page is one that Doris found on our guild's giveaway table and finished up as a charity cuddle quilt. The photos below show two more cuddle quilts that Doris made from scratch.

I sat, quietly for the most part (if you can believe it), and stitched a hexie flower. I have 51 of them made now. I think the stresses of last week's storms have thrown my fibro into overdrive. I'm trying to ignore the harsh symptoms because I have much that needs doing.

I started the laundry as soon as I got out of bed this morning. I hope to get it all done before I crash. And I have to deliver a coconut cream pie up to the church for a luncheon of some sort. I've already forgot what Aunt Evelyn said it was all about. I wrote "cream pie for church" on my calendar, so at least I remembered that much.

I saw this cartoon on Facebook yesterday and immediately recognized me.

Sometimes I make a mental note and then forget where I put it. ;-)

It's tough when you can't get those synapses to fire correctly.

Happy Tuesday, everyone.

I'm glad you could get out an play with your bee friends and that the ugly ole fibro monster couldn't stop you! Sally's refreshments sound yummy and Doris' quilts are wonderful!

That cartoon made me laugh because my Dad used to say he needed to make a mental note on paper for this very reason. Perhaps I'll use the cartoon as my wallpaper?

Am making a pillow for a friend's birthday but it will arrive late because I've been slow to get over that respiratory crud I had a couple of weeks ago. A UFO border is in my near future if I can complete this pillow.

Be good to you!

Hugs!

It's good you were able to get out and away for a while. I'm so overwhelmed and sad, but counting my blessings that all my family and friends are safe.

Susan,
I do the same thing! Make myself notes and then forget where I put them! The cheese ball from Edgar's sounds wonderful :) I am glad you got out with your quilting friends!
Hugs,
Donna

LOL! Where's that darned vodka? You know what I love most about you, lil' Susan? EVERYTHING! Despite feeling awful sometimes, you just keep going! AND you make me smile! I think you are an A+, Numero Uno, AMAZING lady! Glad you had fun at the bee! And 51 hexies? WOW! Veeeery impressive! P.S. You misdelivered the coconut cream pie, by the way. That was s'posed to be for ME! BWAHAHAHA!

Susan, I agree with Kai about the vodka and your amazing will to push on!

I check your blog every morning and am always uplifted, sometimes with a small smile and lots of times with a belly laugh. You have such a knack for describing the scene that I feel that I am right there with you. You truly do inspire me.

Now about that Coconut Cream pie....would you mind sharing the recipe? You are my type of southern cook, and I have thoroughly enjoyed your other recipes.

I hope you get to feeling better very soon.
