Just around the corner at the home of my little friends Sissy, Andrew, Sam, and Jonathan (and their parents and their dog Hallie) is a pink dogwood tree. I always look forward to its blooming in the spring.
The first pink dogwood I ever saw was when I was a child. Daddy used to take us "up on the mountain" near my grandparents' home place each spring to see the one lone pink dogwood that bloomed there. I think I'll have the landscaper who's going to do my shrubbery around the front of the house to plant one for me.
As always, Beverly has lots more pinkness to enjoy on this beautiful Pink Saturday.

I love dogwoods. They always remind me of my Grandpa. He used to always talk about how big the dogwood trees were at his house.

I really enjoy them too. My uncle used to have a place at the lake where he had about 20 trees in his yard. Just fantastic.

That is so beautiful and a wonderful reminder of the weather to come (says the woman who had her kids home yesterday for a snow day).

So, So pretty! It is very funny, every time you post a nice flower or bush I seem to be posting another snow storm!
I can't believe how much ahead your season is.

What a lovely tree. We don't have dogwoods out here in the mountain west. I guess I need to visit warmer climates in the spring to truly enjoy all of nature's bounty of blooms.

What a utterly beautiful dogwood! I think I've never seen one that has such deep pink flowers and it is lovely. I second your idea of planting a dogwood like this one in your yard. We've planted two dogwoods since we've been here. They're both still small and this year have buds but no blossoms yet.
Happy Pink Saturday!
Hugs!

Pink dogwoods are very rare around here. I never even saw one until recently, and I was immediately IN LOVE. I would love one for our lawn.
Simply one of the most beautiful flowering trees in the world, to me. I even think it beats the cherry blossom.

That's a gorgeous tree! Dogwoods do not grow in California where I live and I had never seen one until I visited my sister in the Midwest. They are really pretty in bloom, and also in leaf :) Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful dogwood. I haven't see such a dark pink as that one. My ancient pink dogwood died an honorable death a few years ago and I really should plant another in its place. I keep worrying about another bad drought like we've had the past few years and put it off. Maybe this fall I'll plant one if it seems like this summer went OK. Who knows with the weather lately...

I see dogwoods in my area every once in a while, but nothing so colorful or large as that pink one. So pretty. Thanks for sharing.

Happy Pink Saturday, Susan.
It is gorgeous. I got home from work yesterday, and my husband had purchased and planted a pink dogwood tree. He said he had always wanted one.
