Got Spoons?

Spoons Not me. My spoon drawer seems to be completely empty for the first time in a couple of weeks or more. Mary U. called me this morning to ask me if I wanted to ride to quilting bee meeting with her, and I begged off. Just don't feel like getting ready to go.

The weekend was productive. I spent almost all day Saturday in the sewing room, working on UFOs (bunny quilt, and jungle quilt). I'm sending the bunny quilt out to be quilted this week by my friend Elayne, a fine longarm quilter up in Crossville, Tennessee. Elayne is formerly from Birmingham and a member of our guild. She is truly one of the most talented longarmers I know.

I have all the blocks appliqued for The Jungle Quilt. Have to do the hand embroidery, then put it all together with sashing and borders and then it will be ready to quilt.

I got to see "Two By Two," the Noah's Ark quilt, hanging in the church nursery yesterday. It looks great against the blue wall behind the crib. Will take a photo next time. Didn't think to take my camera.

After church we enjoyed a great spaghetti lunch fundraiser for the UMW (United Methodist Women), and then I went home. Andy was there. She had brought the movie "Fair Game," and we watched that. It's about CIA operative Valerie Plame, who discovers her identity has been leaked by the government as payback for an op-ed article her husband wrote criticizing the Bush administration. Of course, the government denies everything. It was a good movie, as is most anything that Sean Penn is in. But it is liable to make you angry, as it did me.

One day last week (I believe it was Thursday), Andy and I watched "Black Swan," a really excellent movie that should leave you with no doubts that Natalie Portman deserved that Oscar. However, there's lots of sex in this movie--all kinds of sex. So viewer discretion, you know.

If I can get hold of some spoons somewhere, I plan to work some more in the sewing room today. Otherwise, this is liable to be a couch day.

I hear you. I'm dragging today, too, but was for most of the weekend.

Well done on all you accomplished on your jungle quilt and the bunny quilt!

I'm so happy the Noah quilt looks charming in the church nursery and I look forward to seeing the photo!

Hope to get something done on my UFOs this week but it's looking bleak. Relaxing in my comfy chair may be where you'll find me.

Hugs!

I can't wait to see your quilt hanging in the church nursery. Sounds like you have been busy and getting a lot done. You deserve a day to rest.
