From one of my dogwood trees (I have four white ones.)
I was able to rally yesterday and get a bunch of sewing done. I did the hand embroidery on the jungle blocks, finished attaching the borders to the bunny quilt, and made another hexie flower. I'll show photos on Friday, UFO Progress Report Day.
I also raked a pile of leaves in the corner of the house beside the garage, and that almost killed me. Had to take ibuprofen and lie down for an hour. I'll be getting somebody else to rake the rest of them. It's not the fibro so much that won't allow to me do things like rake, vacuum, mop, etc. It's my back. Any kind of motion that puts any kind of pressure on my lower back is murder. So I guess my outside-working days are over. I've never been great shakes as a gardener, but I do like to be able to do a little yard work, rake a few leaves, plant a few posies. Oh well, another loss. What the hey! I still have lots left.
We had great thunderstorms last night. Lots of rain and thunder. No tornadoes. I love thunderstorms when there are no tornadoes or wind damage. I hear others in the South were not so lucky. I hope all my blogging friends out there are safe and dry this morning.
Now I will close with this quote I picked up from fellow quilter Deb Geyer's Facebook page:
"A real woman always has a clean house, empty laundry basket, is well made up, smells good, slim, healthy , eloquent and is perfectly well behaved. Copy this status if you are beginning to suspect that you are a man."
Yep.

Wasn't there a tv show about those 'real' women..."Stepford Wives" I think??? Something to aspire to...for someone else; not me!! Glad you didn't get hit with those awful storms that swept through the South. So scary!

Your white dogwood blooms are lovely! This morning I saw our little pink dogwood's buds had opened, we have a yellow tulip blooming, and the lilacs are beginning to bloom!
Perhaps if your back won't let you garden, you can happily tend some tabletop flower pots?
We also had storms last night with impressive lightening, thunder, and scary wind. More rain and wind this morning but so far, so good for us.
Well done on your sewing accomplishments and I look forward to the photos on Friday. I've begun to suspect my dead computer keeps me out of the sewing room. To use the other computer, I have to be upstairs - but is that crazy of me or what?
That quotation isn't me, either!
Hope you're feeling better.
Hugs!

I understand what you mean about not being able to rake. I really wish it wouldn't hurt so much when I do outside chores. I truly love being in the yard/garden. I just started a med for my fibro yesterday. I'll let you know if it helps. Your dogwood is gorgeous! None of my plants have started blooming-it can't make up it's mind if it is winter or spring yet! UGH! Oh, and my laundry is always done, but that other stuff on the list? Well, let's just say, wishful thinking!
Have a wonderful day!

Your dogwoods are a couple of weeks ahead of ours. The hills and hollows here are full of dogwoods, but it will be the third week of April before they are in full bloom.
I hate to learn that you are in the same boat with me when it comes to doing heavy outdoor work. This is the year that I can no longer have a vegetable garden. I had always done all the digging and garden work by myself because I wanted the exercise. You are right, there are still many things that we can do!
It sounds like you are really getting those UFOs busted! Sandy Gail
