Sophie Belle Patterpaw is nine years old today. Happy birthday, my sweet Yankee Doodle Schnoodle (Sophie was born in New York State).
Of course, I have no idea when Skipper Lou Blue was born. But when we rescued him last summer, Dr. Rachel said he was between one and two years old. So, for simplicity's sake, we're calling this Skipper's Birthday too and announcing that he is two years old today. Happy Birthday, you crazy, hole-digging, sweetie pup, fox terrier. I love my doggies.
We woke up to more snow this morning, but I think it has stopped now. We still have plenty of ice and snow. Temps are supposed to reach the mid 30s today, so maybe some of it will melt. But then, the mercury will plunge for the rest of the week, with lows in the teens and highs below freezing. So I guess whatever doesn't melt today will be with us for the rest of the week.
Congrats to the Auburn Tigers, who beat a flock of ducks last night to become the BCS Champions. That's the fifth straight championship for the SEC and the second straight championship for the state of Alabama football (Bama won it last year).
And what was with those shoes that the Oregon players wore? Every time the ball was hiked and everyone went to running and jumping, I thought the officials were throwing penalty flags all over the place. Was that some kind of tricky football tactic? Well, if so, it didn't work.
I will be working on the list of UFO Bust participants to put in the sidebar today. If you plan to join us, you can still get it. Just let me know by email, suscleve@aol.com. And remember that Friday will be UFO Bust Progress Report Day on the blogs. If you have any progress to report and you have a blog, leave a comment on my Friday blog post, making sure there's a link to your blog, so that others will be able to visit you and see what you've done. Those of you without blogs will send your progress reports to me on Thursday, and I will post them with my Friday post. Is that as clear as mud to everyone?
I crocheted a few rows on the Kitty Cat Afghan last night while I watched the game. But that's all the busting I've done so far this week. I'm still hoping to get the Noah's Ark quilt top finished this week though.
Toodles.

Happy Birthday Sophie and Skipper! You know I thought the same thing about those shoes and socks that Oregon had on...I kept thinking that there were penalty flags but couldn't figure out what the penalty was. Those were sure some bright shoes and socks...WOW! Great game...great ending...War Eagle...the SEC wins again!

Happy doggie birthdays to Sophie and Skipper!!
I agree that those shoes made things confusing but CHEERS that Auburn prevailed!! The SEC rocks!! Way to go knitting as you watched. I'd have dropped stitches left and right but then I cannot knit to save my life ...
Today I'm trying to get enthusiastic about making binding for two quilts while we have freezing drizzle. So far, my get up and go has got up and went without making binding.
Y'all be careful on any ice you may have. I used to work ER in Memphis, and one January we had an ice storm every Wednesday. You would not believe the broken bones. Reason? "Slipped and fell on ice." Don't be one of these folks!
Hugs!

Just checking in to see if you're making it through the snow. Trying to get working on a UFO so I will have something to report this week.

Happy Birthday Puppy Dogs. I wish I knew where my doggie came from and for sure his age. He was 4 - 6 months last January when we rescued him. Unbelievable that someone didn't want our sweet dogs.
My brother is from Huntsville. He along with my nephews and great nephew went to the game. Those duck shoes were annoying. They looked like they could glow in the dark.
Stay warm.

Maisy says Happy Birthday, Sophie & Skipper. This white stuff can go away now as far as I'm concerned.

Happy Birthday to the Yankee Doodle Schnoodle and her little brother! It looks like you REALLY must live in Yankee territory with all that white stuff on the ground. However, it looks pretty much the same at my house out here in Oklahoma.
Enjoy the UFO bust!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET MS. SOPHIE & LIL' SKIPPER! You two darlings have won my heart BIG TIME! And don't forget, as a rule, I am a dyed-in-the-wool KITTY person! (I heard that, Sophie. Please, don't disown me as your Aunty Kai! And Skipper, you will NOT EITHER dig that hole big enough to toss ME into! I DO love kitties! But I love you two SOOOO MUCH! So no naughty barking at me! No biting my pudgy ankles either, Skipper! LOL!) And Susan, my sweet friend, as we heard over & over during Houston's Hurricane Ike in 2009, just hunker down & you'll get through this c-c-c-cold spell! LOVE YOU!

Sophie and Skipper are adorable. Happy birthday to them both. We love our pup too. We have a poodle and she is the third one we have had. I can't imagine life with out Cheri'.
I haven't forgotten my favorite bloggers, I have been in Florida for two weeks all together. Christmas week and a week in January. Lot of busy times at Christmas and our grandson's wedding this past weekend. It is good to be back and catching up. I posted our grandson's wedding today. It was a wonderful event with lots of our loving family present.
We are snowed in and have been for the last three days since we returned from Florida. It is still snowing. It is beautiful but our Cher' is a bit confused with all the white stuff. HA!
Happy New Year with warm hugs,
Jeanne

Hi Susan ~ I think this Bust is going to be a good thing! This afternoon I picked up my Irish Hiking Scarf (which I had deemed my first project to tackle) and actually knitted some. Of course, I couldn't figure out where I left off even with the counter, so I had to take out about 10 rows before starting again. I think I ended up about where I started, but at least I'll know what I'm doing tomorrow! I'd love to cross it off...soon! Happy Birthday Two Doggies!!!
