My UFOs

Disgraceful is what it is. I've counted 36 UFOs this morning--and that doesn't include kits (fabric/patterns) I've put together for quilts I haven't even started yet. Do you think I might possibly be have ADD (attention deficity) or what? QADD, maybe (quilter's attention deficit disorder).

So here's my list (for shame, for shame); and below the list are photos of some of my UFO projects. Some of them you've already seen; some, I haven't even seen in years. Looks like I'd better get to work right away, doesn't it?

So do you think I can finish all those projects in a year? That's three a month, which I suppose is possible. But I'm already thinking Debra might get some donations from my stash for her charity quilt projects. And if I didn't so state in the UFO Bust Rules, donating to charity or giving to a friend is a perfectly legitimate way to get rid of a UFO. Happy Busting, everyone.

Ooops, I almost forgot to list our newly signed on UFO Busters. Give a big welcome to:

Kim at A Peach in Stitches"
Diane W. at DEW Quilting
Donna at Sugar and Spice and Southern Life

Still not to late to sign on. Don't miss out on the fun!

LOL! All I can say is this, sweet girl: You will NEVER be able to claim you're BORED this coming year because you have lots to do anytime you FEEL bored! All so pretty, too! But I most love the Sunbonnet Sue quilt 'cause it obviously comes with a VERY cuddly-looking accessory! (Miss Sophie looks soooooo cute all sprawled out!)

Wow! That's a lot of UFO's! I had a hard time coming up with my list of 10! Imagine how much better you are going to feel when these are done (or gone!). I posted my list last night. And I've even started working on some of them!

The Pat Sloans Orange Project Quilt is what brought me to your blog in the first place! Now Blackberry Creek is my first stop every day! I love the Cozy Cottages...put that one up at the top of the list! I'd love to see more of it!

Oh my word Susan - you just made me feel a WHOLE lot better! Now that is what i call a real UFO list!!

Lovely UFOs Susan. How is it that other peoples UFOs are more appealing than one's own? I have as many if not more than you , and have an unfinished Baltimore album with the same blocks that you show. O know that you will make a big dent in these WIPs this year.

I'm feeling a bit better since I've found "just" 18 UFO or 21 if you count my 3 X-stitch projects. Trouble is, mine aren't such a rich, pretty, and interesting variety as yours are.

Cozy Cottages is my favorite (I have applique envy) but I love many, many of the others. In fact, there's not even one I don't like.

Hope you get your Mama's X stitch Christmas sampler and Andy's hearts completed before Christmas, anything else would be gravy.

Will try to get my list to you tomorrow now that most of Christmas is put away. I've been oh, so out of spoons for the last 3 days and it's not been fun - as you well know.

Hugs!

You've got me beat! I've got 14 projects on my list so far. I feel like there are a few more hiding in my sewing room. But if they don't show themselves in the next couple of days, I'm going to post my list as is. If they turn up later I can just add them to the list.

Wow! What a list... even if you don't finish, you could make a great dent in that list this year.

Hi Susan ~ I'm having about the same response as everyone else after seeing your list...you gotta lotta UFOs!! But that means this UFO Bust will be worth it!! You can do it! And now I really don't feel so bad about mine. :)

I have a bad habit of starting new things (already joined two quilt-alongs this year and it's just the 5th of the month!!) when I absolutely have old things to finish. Why do we all do that?! The new things just seem so appealing I guess, and we don't want to miss out on a single bit of fun if someone else is starting something!! Anyway, my list is started, and I hope to have it emailed to you and posted by the end of the week.

Wow, I am tired just lookin' at all of those. You are quite varied in all the talented stitching you do. Thank you for sharing, it will be great to see where they all go, or how you finish them.

By the way, I have been reading your blog for about 5 months or so now, and really enjoy your writing. It has been fun getting to know you, and inspired by you as you walk through the loss of your dear husband. I lost my mum in August 2010 and it is still fresh. Thank you for opening yourself up and showing it will be get better.

Susan, I am in. I blogged my UFOs today here:
http://peasinapod.typepad.com/peas-in-a-pod/2011/01/be-present-and-comin-clean-with-my-ufos-fair-warning-its-not-pretty.html

I thought I had more, but when I recategorized, I only have about 16-18. If I count all the ones I have all the fabric for and haven't cut on, I have you beat by a mile! haha!

You have made me feel better about my UFO's. I haven't counted mine but am sure I have more than enough to keep me busy for this year and years ahead. My biggest problem is that I keep find new things I want to start. Oh my. I didn't join the challenge but plan on trying to complete some on my own. I still work full time and my time for me is limited with work and family obligations, If I get a few hours in a weekend or sometime an hour in the evenings thru the week that is a lot. Enjoy your blog. What is the title of your sister's book? You mentioned it in one of post but I can't find it.

The books is Sweet Music on Moonlight Ridge by Ramey Channell. Good luck with your UFOs, Carol.

Wow! This definitely makes me want to get my fabric out-ha!

Enjoy your blog. I think I have as many UFO's as you do. Did not join the challenge since I work full time and only have a few hrs a week to quilt. But I do hope to complete a few UFO's. My problem, I find too many projects I just have to start. What was the name of your sister's book. You mentioned it a while back and I can't remember the name.

You've got some great projects in the works, I don't know how you'll decide what to finish first, I vote for Patriotic Sophie, I've always loved that block of yours and think it looks just like your Sophie girl, second is Wild Things Quilt and third, the French General Snowball quilt.......

I hope with some rest and time, you're feeling better soon.
