My sister says she can't believe I still have this tree-topper angel. We each bought a kit in 1980 from Current and made them. Some time ago, one of her cats peed on her angel (she must have either had a short tree that year or a high-jumping cat) and she had to replace it with a store-bought angel topper, which is also very pretty. But my angel still looks good as new.
The angel's dress, face, and halo were preprinted on the fabric. I colored mine with crayons (I think my sister did too), then pressed it to set and sewed the angel together, adding a little lace at the bottom of her skirt. (I machine quilted her wings). She has a cardboard cone for a base that fits over the top of the tree.
Now don't forget to drop in on Beverly at How Sweet the Sound to see what's going on this Pink Saturday. Her theme today is Christmas music. While I have many, many favorite Christmas songs and styles of music, nothing brings on The Christmas Spirit to me like this classic from Elvis. So before you visit Beverly, have a listen to The King sing this lovely ballad.

I love your angel tree topper! Did you color her hair with crayon or stitch it with embroidery floss?
As a Memphis girl, I love Elvis! My favorite Christmas music is Mannheim Steamroller (4 CDs from about 15 years ago make my spirit soar!) and 3 Harps for Christmas by Sylvia Woods.
I'm putting the label on DS1's quilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy pink Saturday to you and the kids!
Hugs!

We had a tree top angel for years and years that I dearly loved. She was elegant and golden and perfect in every way. She began to show her age and look a bit tired a few years ago and the talk began about how we should replace her. I have not been able to find any thing to equal her, so the top of our tree will be unadorned!

Hi Susan, I love your angel story. She is just adorable and doesn't show a bit of age. smile. If only we could hold up that well. I too love I'll be Home for Christmas if sung by Elvis. We were listening to his Christmas CD this morning. Your tree, what is showing, is so pretty.
Wishing you Merry Christmas blessings.

Your aging angel is still beautiful.
Isn't it fun to bring Christmas things out each year and the memories they bring. I am 62 years old and I bless my Mother's heart. The year before she passed away she sent me a cardboard nativity scene that I had as a child. It is aging too but what precious memories it brings :)
Merry Christmas

My mother would love listening to Elvis croon Christmas tunes with you. She loves him.
