The Piecemakers Party Down

Bee7

The above photo shows everyone who was gathered at The Yellow House yesterday for the October meeting of The Piecemakers Quilting Bee (except me; I'm behind the camera).

As you can see, even Sophie and Skipper got in on the fun. Actually I put them in the back  yard while we were eating, but Martha (in the photo foreground) showed up late because of a doctor appointment. So the two critters got in a little begging time.

I served my pumpkin bundt cake with caramel sauce; a breakfast casserole of grits, sausage, eggs, and cheese; nuts; autumn candy mix; sliced apples; apple cider; and coffee.

After brunch, we had a great session of show and tell. Photos below.

Here's Cyndi showing us the lovely quilt she made as a wedding gift for a relative. She asked us to help her come up with a title for the quilt, which we never did do. Any suggestions?

Bee2
Above is Mary U's gorgeous southwestern wall hanging. I wish you could see the dimensional features of it. Actually, I wish you could see Mary hiding behind the qult.

Bee3
This is a gift that Cyndi received from her Japanese penpal, with whom she has been corresponding for years.

Bee4
Doris has made many, many donation quilts for her church and other people and organizations. Here is one that will go to a friend who is undergoing breast cancer treatments. (Center appliqued block made by Cyndi.)

Bee5
Another of Doris's donation quilts.

Bee6
And another.

Bee8
Here's Sally (behind quilt) with her amazing Kaffe Fassett creation.

Bee9
And Rita with one of a pair of sweet baby quilts she made for some special twins.

Bee10
Gerry with her Rail Fence.

The poochies, still waiting for some crumbs to fall.

Thanks for sharing. Would you mind sharing your grits, eggs, cheese, and sausage recipe? I live in Kansas and they don't know how to make grits here!

Thanks.

Lots of lovely quilts there. I'd name the quilt you asked a name for, "Sea and shore" or "At the beach", that beautiful blue made me think of the sea. Really nice quilt!

I would name the Breezy Cool Days and Snuggly Nights. It is gorgeous!

Susan, you are a wonderful hostess. Everything sound delish.

I think the quilt should be called "Love Squared" because of the little 'squares' or blocks & because of the obvious love connection! Whatever she names it, it surely is a PRETTY one! ALL the quilts are gorgeous! I'd be oooohing and aaahing like a NUT if I'd been there. Or MAYBE I would have just been chomping away on all that yummy food! I'm so glad you had fun! And I'm happy to see my doggy-nephews enjoying everyone, too!

Isn't your lovely living room welcoming!! It's seats so many friends with comfort and ease. Applause!

I love the quilts. If the Tweetie Bird quilt needed a name, it could be "I tawt I taw a Puddy tat!!"

As for the wedding quilt, my mind is blank. I like the other suggestions, though.

I 2nd the recipe request!

Hugs!

I'm with Annie on this one. Cyndi's quilt reminds me of the ocean and sand. I think I would name it something like "Sea Swept" but whatever she names it, it's beautiful!

Love the view of the living room, with all the ladies and pooches. All the quilts are beautiful. I think I like Rita's baby quilt best of all, so simple and such lovely baby colors. - Una

What a fun time Susan. I need to find me a quilting group here. I always love seeing when girls get together and share what they've made. And the food sounded awesome too.
