Many of you probably know the amazing designer Kelee Katillac. I mostly know her and her doggie Oliver Wendell from her blog, The Katillac Shack.
A while back, Kelee teamed up with Guideposts magazine to create a miracle in the life of Colette Gauthier, who was battling breast cancer. Kelee and her team transformed Collette's drab little bedroom into a healing sanctuary.
On her blog, Kelee asked her readers to help with this project by participating in the blog party. Lots of prizes were offered as incentive, including the gorgeous painting above, created by Erin Houghton of The Painted Garden.
Well, y'all know how much I love a blog party, and especially a blog party with prizes. So I joined in.
And to tell you the truth, I had almost forgotten all about it. But this morning I had an e-mail from Miss Kelee telling me that I had won Erin's amazingly wonderful painting. I'm still in shock. In fact, I'm not completely sure I'm not dreaming this. But, in case it is true, I have the perfect spot to hang the painting, a spot I've been saving for just the right piece--above my chest of drawers in my bedroom.
Thank you, Kelee, for the opportunity to win this beautiful piece of art. But mostly thank you for bringing joy into the lives of so many and especially for the blessing that you helped bring to Colette. My prayers are with Colette for healing and peace and with you and Oliver Wendell for the blessings you deserve.
If you haven't seen the makeover of Colette's bedroom, watch the short video below. It's a lot of fun to see that grey little room transformed into a beautiful country cottage refuge.

Oh, joy!!!!!!! Congratulations on winning such a lovely painting!
I've visited Kelee's blog often and have seen the video. Colette has been in my prayers for a long time, too, and I was delighted to see the magical whimsy and pretty colors that now make her bedroom such a sweet haven.
Hugs!

Congratulations, Susan. Now, this just makes me happy and gives me a big smile. I can't think of a better home for this gorgeous painting than The Yellow House.

It's GORGEOUS! I'm so glad you won it! And I love Guideposts. I've been reading them since I was in my late 20s! Speaking of reading - I finished Ramey's book & it's AWESOME! I fell in love with her characters, & there were parts (such as the 'rain dance') that I STILL start laughing about every time I THINK of them! That girl can write! But I just don't know about the possums ... eeeeeeewwwwwww!
