The Gang's All Home!

WH1Soph

Sophie upon arriving home: "Where's my Dog?"

WH2Skip

Bless his little pea-picking heart! I've never seen anybody so glad to be back in the arms of his family than my Skipper was this morning. He couldn't be still in the car all the way home. He wanted to keep giving me kisses. Then when we got home, he and Sophie played until he couldn't play anymore. Sophie wasn't ready to quit, but post-op Skipper couldn't keep up her pace.

The vet assured me that he is doing great and is in perfect health. Of course, everyone there fell in love with him, especially the girl who had kennel duty over the weekend. In addition to his neutering procedure, I also had them to give him a microchip. Since he was a lost dog when I got him, I thought we should play it safe with him. I think I'll get Sophie one too.

Our beach trip was fantastic. Above you can see me as I appeared during the four days of our retreat--no makeup (not a bit) and hair air-dryed. That's my handsome grandson Jesse in the red shirt and his friend Heath making the monkey face. I couldn't have asked for a better group to have a restful weekend with. Andy wouldn't let me lift a finger hardly, and the boys were helpful too and also didn't run off chasing girls--well at least not too far off.

But although I had a great time and feel much better than I did when I left, I am so very glad to be home. My favorite place in the whole world is home--just as it is for Sophie and Skipper.

Here's my beautiful daughter Andy and my beautiful dog Sophie enjoying a glass of wine on our balcony at sunset. (Actually, only Andy had the wine. Sophie is a teetotaler.)

Here's Sophie getting in a beach nap. Those toes belong to Andy.

As the sun goes down on our beach retreat, we look forward to home, but also to the next time we have a chance to do it again.

I haven't yet heard from Wendy (the giveaway winner) with her address. If I don't hear from her soon, I'll draw again. I've decided to keep the prize a secret until the winner receives it, and then I'll show a photo. Suffice it to say that it's seasonal goodies.

Oh my, he IS handsome!!! His friend is pretty cute too, lol. And I'm NOT talking about Jesse, hahaha, I'm talking about the black and white gentleman and his fuzzy companion! Ok, Jess and friend too.

Looks like the perfect get-a-way!!

So happy that you had a wonderful time at the beach, I kept thinking of you beside the ocean. What a homecoming with the dogs.

Looks like a perfect little holiday, and I imagine your grandson is beating the girls off, not chasing them LOL! Lovely pics of the doggies too.

I'm glad Skipper is home and doing fine. I think we hurt for them more than they actually do. It looks like you had a really nice beach weekend with family. Loved seeing the photos!

The couch that Andy and Sophie are napping on...I had a chair with the same fabric...while it's the perfect colors for a beach place, not so perfect for my little house in the country...what was I thinking...

Being away is always fun...but I so agree, There's no place like home! Glad you had a good time.

Wonderful photos of a delightful time away! Yes, be it ever so humble (and your home is far above humble), there's no place like home. Welcome home!

You and Jesse are clearly related. Look at those two noses!! I will say again, Andy is too young for such a grown up son! Either that, or great genes or both!

Happy Skipper, happy Sophie, happy Susie!

Hugs!

Looks like fun. Your grandson sure is handsome. That's so nice that a boy knows how to take care of his grandma. That's the sign of a well-raised kid!

You know Susan, I actually have a big collection of photos of me and my family's feet in the sand. I have accrued like a hundred photos already. That's how often we go renting condominiums in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We just love the sand there, and the condos really take away all the stress in our heads. I'm gonna tell my daughter to make a collage out of those photos next week. I hope you have more beach trips in the future, Susan!
