Rednesday in the Kitchen

Red1

Thanks to those of you who agreed to take part in The 2nd Annual Yellow House Virtual Quilting Retreat. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, read yesterday's post. There's room for lots more to join.) More information will be forthcoming.

I wish I could say my cold is all gone now. I can't. I try to ignore it, and sometimes I can. Actually I am better--except for those times when I try to cough up my toenails. That's a little bothersome, but the decongestants and Thera-Flu help. Have y'all ever had any of that Thera-Flu stuff? It's a very vile tasting concoction, but it sure helps the coughing. Tastes like what I would imagine a witch's brew would taste like. If I read the ingredients, I bet it will list eye of newt horn of toad.

Today, I'm linking to Sue's Rednesday blog party. I love Rednesday. I've come to the color red late in life, and I'm making up for lost time. I can't seem to get enough of it.

Cherry World 1

HAPPY REDNESDAY TO ALL MY BLOGGING FRIENDS.

Glad you're feeling some better!!

Have I got news for you - add sugar to the vile Theraflu. That's what makes the lemon flavor palatable for me. When I'm feeling totally cruddy from respiratory germs, Theraflu with sugar is my go-to remedy.

You want to talk about vile. I thought the old Cepastat sore throat spray tasted like a dentist's office, old magazines and all. YUCK!

I'm looking forward to more information about the virtual retreat. Shall we all sip some special tea?

Love the red!!

Hugs!

Oh colds are the worst -- they are so annoying, make you feel like **** and you don't get much sympathy! It's "only a cold!"
Only? HA!

Love that little red sign with the roosters -- so cute!

Oh no! I'm so sorry you're feeling poorly! You cracked me up with the toenail and eye of newt stuff - I'm pretty sure a sense of humor means you've turned the corner on the bug. ;)

I used to get colds all the time and they would go into my chest and I'd get bronchitis - I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but ever since my doctor had me start taking Vitamin D, I haven't gotten sick. WAHOO!

Take care, hope you're feeling better soon!

Hope you feel better soon. Those Tuss....pearls.....something like that are great when you have a cough.

I came to like the color red late in life too! It's just been in the last few years that I've fallen in love with it.
Hope you feel better real soon. Sometimes those rotten colds can just drag on and on. Be sure to take care of yourself!
Happy REDnesday!
Carol

Red is my second favorite color, I wear it a lot and our bedroom is decorated in brick red and sage green.

I'm with you on the Thera-Flu, it is vile tasting, plus you drink it HOT, which makes it more repulsive. I bet there is some batwing powder along with that eye of newt! Hope your cold flees soon.

Hi Susan :) I've just spent a bit of time catching up with you my dear. I'm sorry you've been having so many health issues and discomforts. I know only one other person who suffers from the ugly Fibro; but from her, I know it can make life quite miserable. You may also remember that my Husband suffers from a chronic illness and his journey has been extremely difficult, so I somewhat understand what it's like for you. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm so thankful that the 1st Anniv of Vann's entrance into eternity is behind you ... it also means all the "firsts" are behind you as well. I know how difficult they can all be; but I imagine the love of your life would be etremely proud of the way you have made your way thru it all!!! He's always with you my dear and one day you'll be reunied in the most glorious places of them all :)

I've been MIA because I was diagnosed with Triple Negative (nasty kind) of Breast Cancer back in July and just a few short weeks ago advanced to Stave IV when we learned it had moved to my brain. I wanted you to know because my Husband and I truly believe in the "power of prayer," so I'm here to ask you for yours :) Thanking you in advance and God Bless :)
