Ladybug Lore and a Little Bit More

Lady BUg

In France, if a Ladybug landed on you, whatever ailment
you had would fly away with the Ladybug.

Do you really have to be in France for this to work? Somebody please find me a ladybug and let's try it. I spent most of last night tossing and turning, trying to get in a comfortable position for sleep. Everything hurt, but especially my legs and hips.

I was scheduled for a road trip today with some of my quilting buddies. They're checking out a fabric store in Gadsden. But I'm so tired, and still very achy, I decided I'd best stay home. I don't need more fabric anyway, but it would have been fun to spend the day with them.

I did some more straightening and organizing in the sewing room yesterday. If the pain subsides a bit, I might do some more today. The room is shaping up. I think I could have it organized in a couple more days.

S&S

Sophie and Skipper are feeling fine though. They have become big play buddies. I know the photo above looks like they're trying to eat each other, but they're really playing. They have several intense play sessions a day now, many of them instigated by Sophie. I think she has finally adopted him as her little brother. They play and play and run and tussle and roll and jump and growl. Then they flop down unconscious and nap for a while--which is what they're doing right now. And believe it or not, Skipper is usually the first one to get tired.

LittleYellowButterfly4249 BTW, there's hope for cooler weather, the weather man says. I'm not surprised. I have been seeing little yellow butterflies this week (a sure sign that autumn is on its way). I thought I saw one a couple of weeks ago, but since I wasn't sure it was the right butterfly, I didn't count him. I pray for an early and crisp autumn.

Hi girlfriend!

I'm so sorry to hear you had a bad night's sleep. Did you take an aspirin (or two) when you were wakeful and uncomfortable? Aspirin is a miracle drug that would never be approved by the FDA because exactly how it works is still unknown. Lucky for the achy people of the planet, the discovery of aspirin pre-dates the FDA!!

Bummer about missing the road trip with your quiltie friends. That would have been fun, but it's best that you listened to your body today. I know what you mean about not needing more fabric.

Cheers that you've made progress in organizing the sewing room and that your furry kids are playing well together. Skipper must think he's gone to dog utopia and Sophie must be sure he's her play toy.

Be good to you today and do gentle things with a nap from time to time!

Hugs!

Blessings for a better tomorrow. We never know when those days of fatigue and body aches will happen. But one thing that I know from experience is that a good day will come along again soon. Rest and relax and wait for one of those good days!

Barbara, how do you ALWAYS know just what I'm about to write? LOL! Seriously, I DO ditto her comment! And let me add that the cicadas here are producing an absolute symphony! My grandfather told me YEARS AGO that when you hear them loud & clear, Autumn will soon follow. WOOOOOOHOOOOOO! I'm READY! Rest as much as possible today, sweet girl! I love you!

My doggies do that kind of playing as well....one is a Yorkie and on is a Springer Spaniel. They usually do this at my feet which is very annoying.
Sure hope fall is getting closer.
Yep, trying that nap today. 5 days of a headache geez Louise.

Susan,
So sorry to hear you had a bad night for I know where you are coming from. Not because I had aches and pains but I just couldn't sleep. The last time I looked at the clock it was 2 a.m. and I still hadn't been asleep.
Your little furbabies sure do look well adjusted to each other. I'm sure Sophie has let Skipper know who the boss is.
Hope you have a blessed day and a can have a restful night.
Jo

It sort of does look like they're trying to consume one another! I laughed out loud. Love dog antics. I'm sorry you're sore and achy. When it's about to rain or cool down, I get that way too.

Susan, You sound like me! I have so many pains from years of lifting Amber and my body aches all over at times. But if I could just pick her up again oh how great life would be. I don't sleep well either. I woke up yesterday morning thinking I heard her call for me. I wish so much I could hear her voice again. I read your post yesterday about the one year anniversary about Vann's passing. The one year mark for Amber was July 24 and I don't think I can ever move on. It's like what do I do now? I try to stay busy but my routine was so involved around her for 29 years. Anyway ... where in Gadsden is there a fabric store? Would you please let me know ... didn't know we had one! HL is the only place I know to buy any fabric ... not that I need any!
I hope you are feeling better. I think of you daily.
Hugs,
Donna

I would like to know what that store is because I live near Gadsden and would like to visit it.
