Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch is celebrating the 100th week of hosting Tablescapes Thursday. Lots of bloggers are helping her celebrate, and I wanted to be one of them. Not that I'm any great shakes as a tablescaper, but I thought it would be fun to join in nonetheless.
If you really want to see some awesome tablescapes, start with Susan's and then check out the other bloggers who have signed up.
My photos are of my kitchen table. Everything you see there came from a thrift store except the bowls and placemats (Home Goods), the bee flatware (Horschow), and the candles and napkins (Wal-Mart).
IN A BIND, WAY BEHIND
I really have to be going now. Somehow or another I have managed to promise to bake four cakes this week and make two baby quilts within the next few weeks. So first of all, I have to make a trip to the grocery store for cake ingredients. I'm making three hummingbird cakes (one for Gene and one for Paul for all the help they give me) and one for a spaghetti dinner at church Sunday night. And I'm making a sour cream pound cake for our WOW bake sale tomorrow. No hummingbird cake for the bake sale. I learned my lesson last summer regarding the combination of cream cheese frosting and hot weather.
The baby quilts are both for friends. I know just what pattern I'm going to use, but I can't show it yet because it's a secret for now. I'll just say it's a fairly fast pattern, but one that is adorable when finished.
THINK COOL!

What a pretty cheerful table. I love having a kitchen table IN the kitchen and so hope to be able to do that again in our next house. Thanks so much for visiting and your nice comment- off to browse your blog- looks like we like many of the same things. I promised to make my Mom a pound cake for a meeting she has tomorrow! :)

Love the table - you're so creative! The sage chair, too. I'm catching up reading after a few days. Will have to check on Ms. Thorne's book - sounds interesting. Waiting for cool weather in my neck of the woods, too.

What a lovely and happy table you've created with all of the pretty goodies you have to choose from! Well done!!!
Hope all of your cakes rise properly and I applaud your concern about cream cheese frosting and hot weather. It's certainly HOT here!
Be good to you and save some cake for yourself, okay?
Hugs!

Susan,
you have made a sweet table with all the roosters and ducks. And how funny, the color is just this soft yolk-yellow. Great idea. Thank you for sharing your pretty table.
Greetings, Johanna

Love it. Your red and yellow color scheme is what inspired me to use red as my accent color in the yellow kitchen we just painted! I love the polka dots on the bowls!

Poor edward has to do his work after dinner and he couldn’t go with us to play football. Because he dare not go against his mother’s orders. What a pity!

Beautiful Table Scape !
The colors are so bright and inviting and that rooster is just the frosting on the cake so to speak!
I collect roosters and he is a handsome one for sure.
