Slipping into Pink Saturday

27523_117863227267_9449_nFor the first time ever, I'm taking part in Bevery's Pink Saturday blog party. And I'm going to use the opportunity to tell you about a fun and worthwhile project that's going on that you can take part in, the Pink Slipper Project, founded by Joyce Lucas.

The purpose of the Pink Slipper Project is to provide warm slippers for women and children in shelters. Click on this Pink Slipper Project link to read more about it and how you can help by making and giving crocheted, knitted, or fabric slippers. You'll find that there are not only opportunities to give, but also challenges, giveaways, networking--plus free patterns.

Below are some photos of more slippers that have been donated to this project. As you can see, they don't necessarily have to be pink. I'm sure there is a need for slippers for little boys too, who definitely won't want to wear pink. Although I never understood what men and boys have against pink. Women wear blue, after all. But, yeah, I digress.

Look at the photos, visit the website, and then consider helping with the project.

That Pink Slipper Project is such a wonderful cause, because I know that alot of families end up at shelters with only the clothes on their back.
I love all of the pinks you shared today, especially your Grandma's vases and your office chairs! Welcome to your first Pink Saturday. It's so nice to meet you!

Happy Pink Saturday Sweetie...
What a beautiful worthwhile project, this Pink Slipper Project is. I do so, and when I get my sewing machine serviced again, I will be checking in to this. I can only imagine how happy the folks are that come into these shelters when they receive their lovely slippers.

I adore the two gingham chairs in your office how pretty they are. They look like my cup of tea. I thank you for sharing them this morning.

I am Country Wings in Phoenix your newest follower. Please pop over for a visit. I would be so honored if you signed up to follow me as well. I love meeting new friends and sharing new creating ideas and recipes.

Have a beautiful Saturday.

Uh-oh! Here's the pest back again! I HAVE been checking your blog every day! Here are a few comments, in random order, re: your posts since I was 'away'! First, your mom was a BEAUTY! Really! WAY prettier than Myrna Loy OR Gene Tierney, who, along with my fave, Claudette Colbert, were all gorgeous! You and your sisters were lil' dolls! I also love your house decorating progress! Lovely AND impressive! The red post, then the Pink Saturday post inspired me to start a color post. Of course, red HAD to be first! LOL! The White Rabbit piece? WOW! Let's see - OH! Your HAIR! Susan, I LIKE it short AND I love your natural color! Most of all I just love YOU (AND Ms. Sophie) and MISSED you!
