Camera Failure

Bqg2

Today I attended the end-of-year meeting of Birmingham Quilters Guild. We take August off and start back meeting in September.

We had oodles of wonderful show-and-tell, including the pretty pink quilt that many of you blogging buddies made for me. However, when I cast my viewfinder on the first one to photograph it, I discovered I had let me camera battery die.

Not to worry, I told myself. My cell phone has a camera feature. So I snapped lots of photos with my phone. The only problem there is that I now have no earthly idea how to get the pics from my cell phone onto my blog.

So you must be content with the picture of our 2010 donation quilt (photo above), which we gave away today to a nonmember recipient. The name was drawn, Peggy gave her a call to tell her she had won, but she wasn't home. Everyone at guild meeting was disappointed, I think, that they hadn't won. I know I was. You get to see this quilt only because I brazenly purloined the picture from the BQG website.

Book signing

Above is a photo of my sister Ramey (right) and a dear friend Sherry (left) at Ramey's book signing at the Leeds Arts Council yesterday. (Had plenty of camera battery charge then.) A fun time was had by all, and Ramey sold many books. After the signing, Ramey, my other sister Joanne, Sherry, another old friend Bonnie, and I went to a local restaurant for some chow and chat. It was a wonderful afternoon. Ramey should write more books so we can get together with old friends more often.

Now that the sun has gone down, I have promised Sophie a walk around the block. So toodles for now.

So aggravating when the battery is down... Can you text the pix to your email address? May cost a bit...

The donation quilt is just gorgeous! They certainly know how to do things in your guild! It really is a beauty!!

If you have text messaging just send to your email then download to your desktop and from there to your picture folder. If you have a texting plan it should be included in that (that's how I do it :) and it doesn't cost any extra :) Good Luck !!

I think your hair cut looks cute and your hair color is wonderful. The angel over your fireplace has inspired me to lood for something like that. We have a brick fireplace that is bricked from floor to ceiling with a simple mantel. I have been wanting to redo that mantel with some of the pretty trim boards I see at Lowes, but I could not decide what to do about the brick that would be below the mantel. I might not find an angel like yours, but I am going to start looking for something that will be equally nice. I just love your blog as I come away with so many wonderful inspirations.

It looks like a lot of work went into this q1uilt - the colours and the quilting (hand or machine?) is what makes it such a beauty - oh how I would have loved to win that masterpiece.

Wow! Who wouldn't love that quilt? What a lucky winner!

Wonderful quilt and lucky winner! The great cookbook I won on your give-away is the first time I've won anything outside of a few guild fat quarters.

So glad to hear the book signing was a success for Ramey, but, pardon me, I thought you said it was your turn to write a book!!

Hugs!

Glad you took some pictures! It was just a thrilling experience. I have that Pomeranian-in-the-wind look on my face!
