"More Watership Down" by Frederick Morgan (1856-1927). Morgan was an English painter whose work often featured smiling twinkly-eyed children, baby animals, and rustic settings. One painting of his featuring children and a puppy became an ad for Pear's Soap. I found this print at the thrift store for $10, then proceeded to spend $50 more on it after I tried to "repair" it.
I spent much of the day yesterday working in the guest room and trying to straighten out my Blue Cross prescription insurance dilemma. It appears to be an insurance company glitch that's causing the problem and not the pharmacy after all. The insurance company records, in my case, don't show CVS as a participating pharmacy. Never mind that they were a participating pharmacy last month when I had my scripts filled, or the month before, etc. Never mind that CVS has many, many other customers with BC Part D insurance that are able to have their prescriptions paid for.
The pharmacy gave me a three-day supply of my meds to last, they said, until I can get the matter straightened out. The way things are moving, that could be more than three days, but BC tells us that it is "under review."
In the meantime, here's a sneak peek of what's going on in my guest room. Almost finished, but not quite.
Blue Books & Pigs: Looking for complimentary bookends.
I'm going to use this fabric (from my stash) for a window treatment in this room, probably a gathered valance or something very simple.
On one of my trips to the pharmacy I went by to see a friend whose sister has been very sick. On my way out of her neighborhood, I came upon another friend, Marla, walking her dog Sally. I stopped to say hi, and she persuaded me to back up and come in and get the reading pillow that she had for me. She has been following my renovations and thought I might want it for my bed. I did! It's perfect.
Not only is this chenille pillow very pretty and looks as if it were made for my bed, it's comfy too. I gave it a test run last night. Reading in bed is one of my most favorite activities. And this pillow makes it even more enjoyable. It's soft and cushy, not like some of the reading pillows you find that are hard and heavy and not comfy at all.
If you live on the east coast or in the south (or any place else where the heat is oppressive), I hope your air conditioning is working and that you can stay inside and keep it company today. Cheers!

Hi Susan, everything is coming together very nicely. I love the blue guest room! Hopefully your prescription problems will get sorted out quickly - of course it would be too much to expect an apology for all the aggravation the insurance company's inefficiency is causing you. It sure is hot here in Quebec - at the moment it is 82 degrees F but if you factor in the humidity it is 96F. I had to go out to water the garden and do some grocery shopping this morning but I'm not budging from my air-conditioned home until it cools down.

Love your guest room and that's a really pretty quilt on the bed. I commented on one of your earlier posts that you should come to NH to escape the heat. Well, our nice cool weather has gone-over 100 here yesterday. I don't know how you southern girls put up with the heat for a much loger time than we get up here. I am indeed friends with my air conditioner!

Same in Ontario as in Quebec. I think you asked for this weather for us Susan, so that we know what you live through most of the Summer. Love the guest room, wonder who'll get to sleep in it first. Hope your prescription mess is cleared up soon, sounds like a computer glitch to me, some one some where probalby hit a wrong command.

How pretty everything is looking in your blue bedroom. Any guest would feel very comfortable in there. I love the painting you've hung above the bed. It reminds me a little of Mary Cassatt's work.

Very very pretty. I love the quilt on the bed--is it one you made? I don't decorate with blue but love it in your house. Cottagey all the way!

The Blue Room is so pretty and blue is such a soothing color. Can you blog about the quilt on the bed? I don't remember seeing it here before!

Your guest room is beautiful. Love the quilt on the bed! An inviting guest room is something I strive for too. You definitely hit the mark! The new print goes wonderfully well. I'm staying in the AC as much as possible but it's hard with two kids in sports.

Your guest room is gorgeous, really welcoming, and I agree that the quilt on the bed is very special. The print goes well too, despite its trials and tribulations!

What a lovely and welcoming guest room you've put together! Well chosen fabrics and accessories and, of course, the beautiful quilt!
How nice of Marla to give you the perfect in every way reading pillow!
Hope you can straighten out BC promptly. Keep asking to speak to the person's supervisor and record the names of those you talk to.
We're at 102*F and it's broiling outside. You stay cool, too!
Hugs!

Where do we sign up to spend the night? I don't care how much that picture cost - it was worth it. It is perfect for that room. And amen on the A/C. It's 98 here in SC right now and it's after 6:00 in the evening. Glory be! Hurry Fall!!!

The bedroom is coming along nicely! What a beautiful blue quilt you have, although I know you've heard that before! I've read 3 of the books on the dresser, how funny. I love the picture you got to go with it also!

You have done an excellent decorating job! You've used colors that I love and find so peaceful. Our last house, an English Tudor, was decorated in those very shades of pink, yellow, and blue.
This time, in our new Victorian, we went for shades of wine, but sometimes I miss the soothing blues. Your guests will certainly enjoy that lovely blue guest room.

The room looks wonderful and very welcoming. The cushion in the middle on the bed is the same toile I have in my own bedroom. I like the use of a
petite point darker blue bird cushion. It intensifies the look
