As promised, here's a look at my newly decorated guest room, all in shades of blue. The bedroom furniture is circa 1962, my first furniture purchase when I married my first husband, fresh out of high school and dumb as dirt. But I think I picked some pretty furniture.
The rocking chair was Vann's. It's a Brumby. I knew nothing about the Brumby Chair Company of Marietta, Georgia, famous for its rocking chairs, until Vann brought this one into my life.
When you've finished touring my blue room, I hope you'll visit Cielo at House in the Roses, whose blog party "Show Off Your Cottage Monday"always offers lots of opportunities to visit beautiful and inspiring cottage decor. Then find more inspiration at Sally's "Blue Monday" blog party.
And now for the tour...
I found the handkerchief at a yard sale. I decided the R is for Ramey. But if it had been and X or a Z, I think I sitll would have bought it because it's so pretty. I added the lace to the bottom of the shade to make it a little more cottagy.
The heart came from a yard sale. It does look a little like it might have come out of a ho..ho..ho...house of joy, as it were. But I sort of like it--and it is blue.
My blue fabric journal, the product of a round robin with some awesome artists.
Mama and I made this pincushion years ago. She did the crochet work, and I did the sewing, stuffing, and ribbons work.

What an inviting guest room; I think the only problem would be to get the guests to leave again ;). Love your blue and white plate collection.

Lovely blues - Gorgeous guestroom - I was enjoying strolling through when I looked at your dresser and said, to myself, OH my goodness! That's my dresser! Closer look - very similar - but, not exactly! How cool!
Hope you have a great day,

I just love blue & white together - I have that same print over your bed. I bought it so long ago and still think its the sweetest ever. Also - about the same time read a book you have "The Mists of Avalon". Loved it then - I should fish it out and try it again. Thank you.

So many pretty blue things! What a lovely, lovely room.
I would be hard pressed to find either blue or pink in a tour of my own house, LOL!

Your blue bedroom looks very peaceful. You have good taste. ( I have a crystal lamp base just like that one. However, I put a pink victorian shade on mine for my rose guest room. I also have toile pillows in both that same blue print and also in wine. They are on my window seat. Plus, I have a couple of pieces of furniture in that same design as your dresser and bed.)

Your guest room is so inviting! I think my favorite accent is the little pincushion you and your mother made. You are also very talented at wall arrangements--the blue plates are hung perfectly.
