Family Fun

R&W standing My possum-loving sister Ramey came by yesterday to check on my home makeover progress and to pick up a bucket of paint. She looked around, uttered a few uh huhs of approval, and then surveyed all that was yet to be done. "This is hopeless," she pronounced.

Daniel didn't make it with the chair yesterday. He was having truck issues. I think the plan is to deliver the chair tomorrow. I'm a little confused myself.

Andy and I had a fun outing yesterday. First we went to Ruby Tuesday's for a salad-bar lunch. RT has the best salad bar. Then we went to Lowe's and filled the bed of the little green pickup truck with pine bark mulch, river pebbles, and potting soil. On the way home, we stopped by Chick-Fil-A for a vanilla milkshake, telling ourselves we needed the frosty goodness to cool off. The little truck's air conditioner is on the blink.

We also stopped by my other sister Joanne's house for a visit. Joanne is in the process of her own decluttering and spring home spruce up. We wanted to see if she was getting rid of anything we wanted. So far, no.

Going now to get ready to go to church. There's a hoe-down at Bynum's this afternoon, with food and hayrides and games. But the weather is iffy. And I'm really not feeling up to hoeing down anyway. We'll see.

Well, phooey about the chair and ottoman delay and Daniel's truck miseries. Hang on! Your beautifully recovered furniture will come in good time.

Ramey is so pretty, but where/when did she befriend the opossum?? Amazing! I see the family resemblance.

Ah, not hopeless, with the shrea, shrea method, your home will gradually come together as you imagine it.

Our afternoon weather is iffy, too.

Hugs!

Oh no! How could Ramey say it's hopeless? From this side of the blog it's looking great! (Or the bits you let us see are anyway!) Don't give up! I KNOW you are getting there ....and it's going to be fabulous!!
How lucky you are having two sisters and Andy nearby!
Lol Helen

It is not hopeless, a masterpiece takes a long time to finish. Tell Ramey all good things come to those who wait. The only thing is you are doing all the work and the waiting. Hope you have a blessed Sunday and maybe not to much rain. We had shower coming home from church and now it looks like another on is on the way.

I wouldn't have known what that animal was if you hadn't said. Cute little critter!

You & Ramey could be - well - SISTERS! LOL! At least in appearance! Possums? Eeeeeeeew! I'll choose Miss Sophie, thanks! I am SO not a fan of - shudder - possums! And Ramey, for SHAME! Of course it's not hopeless! Susan, you are making HUGE strides, & the Yellow house is looking amazing! Now - I have to say this & please forgive me if I sound like a doubting Thomas. Are you absolutely SURE Daniel REALLY has your furniture ready? I guess I am just not as trusting as I once was. Maybe someone could go pick it up for you if he still has 'issues' tomorrow. LOVE YOU! Doubting Kai

Your remodel is not hopeless. Speaking as one who does some of this herself, I know that what may not look like a lot actually took a LOT to accomplish. It is huge what you've done so far. Keep it up! Hope you made it to the hoedown and that it was fun!

Well, y'all, hopeless is a relative term! I was employing that assessment from my point of view, which involves a week's vacation spent wrestling with my own amazing clutter. Plus a never-ending supply of cat fur on and under everything in my house. At the end of the exhausting week, I was exhausted, and certain areas of my house were improved. It would take another couple of weeks to finish the job.

So, believe me, I was commiserating!

The possum is a darling, isn't he! Susie won't let me bring him in her house.
