All Clogged Up

Shoes

How about my new rubber Ladybug Garden Clogs? I got them to take the place of those grody, worn out, shredding canvas ones I showed you. These new ones are very comfy, and they don't slip and slide on the pine-straw-covered hillside. They fit snugly around my feet, so dirt doesn't get in them when I'm digging and planting.

Speaking of digging and planting, I went out this morning to plant some yarrow that I bought Saturday. I wanted it around my bird feeder pole, so first I had to dig up the grass and work up the soil around the pole. Then I planted the yarrow. I also spread a bag of pine bark mulch and carried half a dozen or so large rocks across the yard to enclose the yarrow bed around the bird feeder. More rocks are needed, but I ran out of spoons before I ran out of rocks.

I'm afraid that's it for me for today. I took Sophie on a walk with the last of my strength. She's going to have to utilize the back yard for the rest of the day.

I didn't make it to the hoe down yesterday. I had lunch with Lori and Greg after church, then came home and walked Sophie, then lay down on the couch and went to sleep. It was after 5:00 when I woke up. It was so hot and muggy yesterday that I don't think I would have done well anyway. Today is a bit cooler and much less humid.

Haven't heard from Daniel regarding the chair today. I'm beginning to wonder about that boy. Well, at least he's staying in touch. I don't guess he has absconded with my chair. I think he has just had a series of unfortunate events. I know how that can be.

Althea

My althea rush (rose of sharon) was sporting two blooms this morning when I went out. In a week or so, it should be full of them. This bush has spawned zillions of babies underneath it. Courtney, I wish I knew how to get some of them to you. If anyone knows how to mail live plants, please let me know. I have received plants in the mail, but I'm not sure if the nursery does something special to them before they ship them. I don't know how they stay alive.

I going to read for a little while this afternoon and see if I can regain a few spoons to get a little work done in the house today. Even if it's just to carry a box or two down to the basement, I don't like a day to go by without getting something done.

LOVE those shoes! Waaaaah! Why, why, why do I have to have such impossible-to-fit FEET? I would love to wear cute shoes. Never HAVE been able to wear heels or any shoe that is actually fashionable. Sigh. But YOU, my dear, look STUNNING (well, your FEET look stunning as that's all I can see - LOL!) in those shoes! Re: Daniel - glad he's at least keeping in touch. Sorry to have sounded so mistrustful but I think I've been scammed so often I've become hardened. Your flowers are beautiful! I didn't know lil' Court liked them, too! Now! Do ONLY as much as your body says you can handle, okay? LOVE YOU!

Ooohhhhh!!!!! What jazzy clogs you have! Mine are a dull green, but they do the job. I like yours better, though!

Our althea has 4 white blossoms and I'm so looking forward to the whole bush in bloom. The white blooms have deep red near their centers.

Hope Daniel's truck can be cured or resurrected quickly so you can have your newly-lovely chair and ottoman in place in your new and improved living room.

I hear you on the spoons. Last week used up so many spoons it may take weeks until I have any umph. Bother! Today is cool and just delightful, so I'm enjoying my Cracker Barrel rocking chairs, sipping iced tea, and letting the world go by! I recommend this activity (or lack thereof)!

Hugs!

You look like you have happy feet with those clogs. They really look comfortable. Hope you have a blessed day and don't run into any snakes like I did. Jo

Love the clogs! Where'd you get them?

Those clogs are eyecatching!! I do love pictures of what people wear on their feet. If they had some close to me I'd buy them.

Most days you have to spread your spoons out to the things you really WANT to get done. Naps are good things, sometimes I just take my painkiller and lay down for half an hour or so, and it revives me a bit. Save your spoons for the important things.

Love your new clogs! Your flowers are looking good. I have no energy for gardening, but I love looking at them. My rose bushes here are really going crazy right now. Glad you are reaping the benefits of your garden!

Happy to see that you made good on the clog website and purchased a pair for you!
I am slowly getting into my own "declutter" project thanks to your inspiration... :)

Susan, I love your new shoes!!!!! Cute.
We had two rose of Sharon trees in our yard when we moved in last year and we took them out. Like you said it was growing millions of them underneath and everywhere. My flower beds are full of them now, and we had to kill all the grass and start over. There still coming up everywhere. Guess that SHARON bush is a tough old gal. lolol
