Valence Fabric: Check

Gencri

I have been to every fabric store in Birmingham (unless there's some I don't know about) except Calico Corners because I know I can't afford them. I finally found exactly the perfect fabric for my valence at Jo-Ann's in Hoover. But, alas, they had only seven yards, and I need 10 yards, according to Daniel. Nobody else in town even had it.

It's Waverly General Store Crimson, shown in the photo. It matches the slipcover fabric and my couch fabric. And I think the stripes will add interest to the checks and English floral fabrics.

Jo-Ann's would have ordered the fabric for me, but could promise no better than four to six weeks for delivery. I didn't like that. So I came home and went online and found it at onlinefabricstore.net. I have to pay shipping, but the price per yard is cheaper than Jo-Ann's was at 50% off. So I feel good about it. And it should be here by the middle of next week, if not before.

So one more thing marked off my to-do list.

Lovely fabric Susan, worth tripping to all those stores. Hope you had a break and a pick-me up when you got home.

Glad to hear that you managed to get the fabric Susan. It often happens to me that I choose a fabric only to find it is just a metre short.

How did we ever live without the internet? :o) Great fabric. I too am a fan of the English Country look, I love everything you've shown us so far.

Lovely fabric, I'm sure that the valance will look wonderful - at 10 yards there will probably be some left over for a cushion or two. Enjoy your weekend.

I have that fabric, Susan! It's in my bedroom, on a neckroll pillow. I've had it for 9 years and I still love it. It has flower fabric coordinates too. If you like Yankee Candles, the pillow is on the "Home Sweet Home" Label. Nice taste! ;-) Jen

That stripe is beautiful and classic. I'm sure you will really enjoy the valances made out of that!
