I'm going to need lots of good vibes coming my way today. Yesterday took a toll on my spoon supply. And the few spoons I have left are all bent and twisted and won't hold soup.
So here's what happened. After my visit with Daniel, I decided to assemble my lawn furniture that I bought on my most recent trip to Lowe's to acquire more paint samples.
My daughter Andy had bought this pretty aqua lawn chair, the metal retro kind. At Lowe's I noticed that they had those chairs in yellow--just right for the yard of The Yellow House. I knew they had to be assembled, but I thought if my Andy, who has the patience of a newborn, could do it, I certainly could.
Well I don't know how that child rallied enough patience to assemble her chair. It took me half the day (the latter half) to put one of my chairs together (I bought two) and the little table that I bought to go with them. By the time I had the table and one chair put together, I had said words that I didn't even know I knew. I think that chair assembly might be the hardest job I've ever done in my life. And I still have another one to go. But not today. Today is housework. I've watered the plants outside already, and that's all the work outside is going to get today.
I have to finish preparing for the painting next week. And I have to go to King Cotton in Birmingham to get fabric for Daniel to make my valence and feather pillow forms for him to make my sofa pillows. All that has to be done before week's end, and today is Thursday. Oh dear sweet leaping leprechauns! How can it already be Thursday?!?!? But it is. My garbage can is out on the street, so I know it must be Thursday, garbage day.
Bye, y'all I have to get to work. Got any extra spoons lying around you could send me?

I know EXACTLY how you feel! Two days of editing almost non-stop, no sleep at ALL, and still household chores to do. I think I need to borrow some of those words, please. OR I could give you a few CHOICE ones in my Comanche language. If you say them with a sweet look on your face, no one EVER knows you are being naughty! LOL!

I did my first and last furniture assembling a few years ago--a lamp/ table/ magazine holder combo from Wal-Mart. It has little spindles on two sides, and I had to use a spell to keep them upright while I put on the top rails. No more assembling pour moi! - Una

Hugs! Good thing there's no deadline for chair assembly. Let the 2nd chair wait until at least next week or later. You have one to sit in and any guests can sit on the steps for the time being. Okay? Those spoons are still yours.
Next, call a friend to go with you to King Cotton tomorrow morning, then "do lunch" to celebrate while en route home. Spoons last longer when spent with a friend.
Your assembly story reminded me of DH's maiden aunt who long ago put together a bookcase. She told everyone she'd been screwing all day long!!!
Shrea, shrea!
Hugs!

Hi Susan, we do impose a lot on ourselves. Now that our floors are installed and almost all of the rooms painted it is time to make curtains (I know you don't like them but I need them) - just got back from buying a fortune worth of fabric and trying to decide which room to start with.
You're lucky that your friend directed you to Daniel - can't wait to see the results of his work.
Good luck with the shopping expedition and the dining room furniture sale. If I were closer I'd love to put the second chair together for you, it'S something I'm good at although I never read instructions and somehow things manage to come together and, more importantly, stay together.

It sounds like we are both in the fix it - put it together situation. My ac was out for a couple days, could not figure out what was wrong because it was a brand new unit. Turned out that when we had a bad storm a couple of weeks ago it tripped the breakers outside - so simple - now I know. Then I stripped the crank handle on my window but I am having a terrible time getting the rivet out so I can take the unit to the big box store and get a new one. I need to get paint, looking for new carpet and decided to forgo the solar shades for the Florida room - to costly. Love your chairs, I was thinking of getting a couple myself. Nancy in Florida

How did I ever have time to work, I ask myself!

Oh dear--no extra spoons here! Some days (and weeks) are like that! Pick the most important things to do, and deal with the rest--later!

Since Andy is the expert on putting these chairs together, you should get her to do the last one for you ;o)
