A Star in the Face of the Sky

MPC0098935-2 I just couldn't wait till tomorrow to tell you about Daniel. He's the fellow who is going to make my slipcovers, among other things.

Almost from the minute he walked in my door, I knew this was it. Everything was gonna be all right. And I was beginning to wonder. It was like I had colors and fabric and knockout roses and petunias and paint samples all running around in my head. I really was confused.

Then came Daniel. I didn't know when my friend recommended him that she was sending me a real decorator. He knew exactly what I wanted when I couldn't even say myself. English Country Cottage. He described and even drew pictures of what he was going to make for the chair and ottoman. Then we talked about sofa pillows for the new sofa. I agreed with everything (especially the price, which sounded really reasonable).

Then he turned to the window. I told him I didn't want, don't like, drapes. (All I have on the windows now are wooden blinds.) So Daniel sketched out and described the fabric for a beautiful valence for my window, which he's going to make AND install.

Then he helped me decided from all the splotches of paint on the wall which one I would paint the living room, dining room, foyer, stairwell, and upstairs hall. That's it in the square above: "Warm Capuccino." Strangely enough, that's the first one I looked at for the living area. He held the chair fabric up to it, and it was like DUH! Of course, that's it.

MPC0091100-2 Then he looked at my bedroom and agreed that the soft light yellow would be a good choice. Now I just have to decide which soft yellow.

Penny at Comforts of Home used a lovely Benjamin Moore paint called "Belgian Waffle" (shown at left) in her decorating. I'm seriously considering it or something just a little lighter for my master bedroom and my sewing room.

I'm still in a quandary over the guest room and kitchen. Maybe I'll Daniel to give me his opinion on Saturday when he comes back for the chair. Daniel voted for something paler. And I think I agree for my bedroom because of the quilt that hangs on the wall, the blue-and-yellow basket quilt that's my blog header. But I think this would be a great happy color in the sewing room.

Well, that's all. I just had to tell you about Daniel. It turns out he loves God too. So I know it's a match made in Heaven.

Tell Daniel to trot on over here and give me an estimate on my loveseat! Nice you found someone reasonable. You are really whipping that house into shape. What will you do next year when everything is done?

What could be more perfect?! I'm so pleased for you.

These two colors are so similar, so would you choose a similar color or a different color for the kitchen and guest room? Be sure to show Daniel the accessories you have for the guest room!

Joy!!

Happy hugs!

Susan, I love all your choices so far. This is going to come together beautifully. You are already past the hard decisions. Daniel sounds like someone who would give you good advice! Hope your dining furniture sells!
