It might look pink to you; but to me, it's a hot cup of coffee, with a generous dash of peachy cream. The actual name of the color is "warm cappuccino," and I'm in love with it. I just sit here and stare at the walls, trying not to think about the big fat mess the rest of the house is in.
I try to imagine how my living room and dining room will look when the new furniture is here and everything is back in order.
...and my kitchen, when I can find the tabletop again.
...and the reading room--er, uh, I mean my bathroom.
As you can see--or maybe you can't (click to enlarge and maybe you can)--I decided to paint the kitchen wall in the cappuccino color too. After sampling yellows, blues, greens, browns, and briefly considering red, I realized that the cappuccino perfectly complimented the bunny border and would look nice with the chicken quilt if i ever get it made. I think I'll have to replace my curtains, which are a green-and-white ivy trellis print, but they're old anyway. Probably time for something fresh.
Yesterday was a very stressful day, for both me and Sophie. There seemed to be no place for us to be without being in the way. We tried to stay outside as much as possible, but the humidity was bad, and both of us wanted back in where it was cool and dry. We finally took Joe and Linda's little doxie Cricket and went over to Paul's in the afternoon and sat with him for a while. I have to remember to get a photo of Cricket today. He's a precious and smart pup--even if Curly does detest his bark. Pooh on Curly.
I don't have to worry about selling my old sofas. One of the boys helping Joe paint needs furniture, so I gave them to him. He is supposed to get them out in a few days. They're pretty rumpled and worn, and I thought I might have a hard time selling them. I'm glad someone is taking them who needs them.
A few of you expressed interest in seeing the fairy garden, so I'll try to get pics today. Keep in mind that it's a little rumpled too from having been dropped, but I'm thinking it will straighten itself out as its plants grow.
In closing, I'd like to share these photos of plate arrangements for wall art that I found in my current BH&G newsletter. Aren't they fun?

Good morning Susan, You are making progress and, as hard as it is to believe at this stage, before you know it everything will be neat and tidy and your "spring cleaning" is done. We are back to normal here and it feels good - like you I sometimes sit and admire the results of all the efforts.
Enjoy the day despite the distractions.

Love the 'warm cappuccino' paint color and think it will be wonderful to live with. It's it interesting how captivating a new paint color makes walls? Hope the painting will soon be completed, that your old furniture will go, your new and newly reupholstered furniture will arrive, and all will be put to rights.
The plate arrangements on the walls are so pretty, tho the first one is too busy for me. AMIL and I are planning some arrangement of her favorite plates on her wall(s) and hope to do that soon since we now have the plate hangers we need.
Hang in there! Hugs!

It is all going to be wonderful, Susan.
I go nuts when I have things like this going on, but then the end product is always worth it.

Love the plates. I have groupings of my grandmother's collection of hand-painted plates over my guest beds. The plates are mostly light/pear green with flowers and my walls are a Martha Stewart medium blue. I have a stack of fabrics to make quilts for those beds someday.

You and Sophie will be enjoying a "new" home in no time at all. Remember to pace yourself when you're putting everything back in its place. I love the colour of your walls, I'm going to write down the colour name. I also love those plates, I don't have enough to put on a wall but love the idea.
Cheers Ruth

I LOVE that yellow/white wallpapered room. That is sooo happy.
You are a redecorating fool over there.

Susan, It is going to be lovely! I hate dealing with the stress of painting and things out of order. But it will be wonderful when finished. I love the plates!
Blessings,
Donna
