The entire upstairs is painted as well as the stairwell and the foyer. Joe and his crew are doing an excellent job.
A sweet young lady came last night from Tuscaloosa, along with her father and brother, and bought my china cabinet and took it away.
Andy came by after work to be with me when the people came for the china cabinet. She saw the report on "The Today Show" about the people who got murdered by creeps responding to a Craig's List ad.
I got an e-mail this morning that the stain-resistant treatment, which I paid extra for for my new sofa, has been shipped. Now how in the world do you ship the treatment without the sofa? I hope they're aren't expecting me to apply it.
I made a fairy garden yesterday--and promptly dropped the whole thing and broke one of the fairy's wings off--and had to plant the whole thing again.
I found mouse droppings in my basement.
Curly has not been back. But Nolan told us yesterday that he (Curly) once came out and tore a bird's nest out of a hedge because the chirping was irritating him.
That's all the news that fit to print. Sophie and I are on our way to Lowe's to pick up more paint and blue tape. Have a good day, everyone.

This Curly guy sounds like a real nut - why in the world would Nolan want him living with him! Beware my friend - he sounds like the type of person that snaps and goes crazy.

Hi Susan,
I think Karla is right. You are worrying about the lady coming to buy the china cabinet (well done for selling it by the way!), but you have a psycho living next door. Maybe you should talk to Nolan about him - although kicking him out would probably drive him to even crazier behaviour. Curly sounds like he really needs to get himself a life - ripping out a birds nest because a bird is singing too much - well in my book that's a long way from normal. I don't want to worry you my dear, but just you keep a close eye on Curly.
Lol, Helen

Better news than in the newspaper, Susan. I can read your blog and be entertained , not end up feeling upset and depressed by the daily news. Your painting crew are makig great progress.
Hope that Sophie is not too traumatised by all the activity, my cat would be hiding under the sofa.

Forget about the Craig's List creeps. You have enough to worry about with Curly.
The painting is looking good!

Congrats on having the painting so far advanced! There's a long way to go before I get to see new paint on my walls--we're saving that for last. I love your colors.
Re: Neighbors - My young neighbor's brother came to live with him, and I can't tell them apart, so I just call them both Jerry--which is not the name of either one!

love love love that paint!!!!! I think I could possibly get away with that with Marcus.. he's not to picky as long as I wouldn't paint ALL the walls pink :-)

Girlfriend, I say if any Craig's List creeps show up, send them next door to visit Curly!!!

I'm concerned about Curly, too, and think Nolan needs to have a hard think about how appropriate it is for Curly to be so intolerant that he endangers baby birds. Is he on psych meds? I see him as a bigger and more constant danger than the Craig's list threat. Again I say: earplugs!
Love your paint and am glad the painting is going well, that the china cabinet has sold, and that you're making such good progress in the house!
Hugs!

Unfortunately, Nolan doesn't own the house. Both Nolan and Robert (Curly) rent from another fellow. Nolan has asked him to move anyway, and he says that Robert says he is looking for another place. Keep your fingers crossed he finds one.

Love how the paint looks! I understand about getting more blue tape! I used oodles when I painted last! (Maybe I should look into stock for it!)

I have called "curly" the anti-social freak for years now. LOL!! he does need help and I think meds won't go far enough. The child plays video games until 4 or 5am and sleeps til ??? I think Paul should give him a shake down LOL!!
Paint looks great and you can lock Munchie (the calico) in your basement over night and the mouse should be gone :D

Susan, Thank you for the belly laugh!! I've just spent the day taking my elderly dad to Dr. appointments, hair cut, shopping, and the bank. I needed a good laugh and you delivered! That Curly guy sounds like a nut, but a harmless nut. After all, he did knock at your door(minus social graces), instead of standing in front of your house screaming obscenities. Your paint colors are beautiful-very soft looking. Pat McDonald

Funny how different sounds affect people, isn't it? One of the things I miss MOST when the weather heats up & the windows are closed in favor of a/c is the birdsong. I love it! Sad that poor Curly can't find peace in that rather than aggravation. Part of me feels sorry for him because OBVIOUSLY he has serious issues. But another part of me wants to shake him till his insides rattle & scream, "Get a LIFE, son!" On a different note, your house MUST feel chaotic right now (even Sweet Sophie looks as tho' she's wondering, "What's going ON here, Mama?") the truth is, you are making so much wonderful progress & it's looking lovelier by the day! Just think of the Little Engine that Could: I think I can! I think I can! (I KNOW you can!) I love you, Susan!
