Bonjour!

BonjourI think this is one of the finest treasures I've ever scored at a thrift store. I'm totally in love with this little cup. And I didn't just buy it on a whim; I actually have a home all picked out for it.

There's a shelf over the double windows in the my dining room; Vann built the shelf for me to display some of my collection of pitchers and tea pots. Well, I'm tired of looking at pitchers and tea pots. I'm now going to decorate that shelf with some of my collection of red transferware, like in the photo below that I shared yesterday.

Ss_BHG129840 I have lots of red-and-white dishes, mostly my huge set of Vista by Mason, which I began collecting when I was married the first time, back in the 60s. My big sis Joanne helped me pick out my pattern, and I've never been sorry for our choice. So my little bonjour cup will rest on the shelf with some of the Vista as well as other red-and-white pieces I own.

I didn't get a lot done in the house yesterday, although I did have a busy day. I decided that I had let my hair grow enough to get most of the color cut off--also I was not going to be able to do much more digging in the dirt and planting stuff in this horrid Alabama humidity if I didn't lose some of the hair.

So I got a hair cut. When I arrived Gwen (my stylist) said she was beginning to think that she was going to have to send the hair-cutting police for me. I explained to her that I'd been letting it grow to get rid of the blonde. She said, "Well you never did like that color anyway. You did it for Vann." And she was right. I didn't and I did.

I won't show the results yet. There's still just a little blonde left on the tips--plus Gwen cut my hair so short that I now look like a fat boy. But it will be grown out before I know it, and I can get the rest of the blonde removed.

After hair cutting came book club. We discussed that most boring of all books, in my opinion, The Elegance of the Hedgehog. I think Barbara, who chose the book, was a little dismayed that I didn't like it. Everyone else seemed to. Not me. I thought it a complete waste of reading time--most of which I read while waiting in line at the DMV to purchase a car tag.

Oh, speaking of reading, I found my Kindle charger--in the last place I looked. (Isn't that always the way of it?) It was in the top drawer of my bedside table, apparently right where I put it.

Well, work awaits, and I must get at it. Thanks to you all for your thoughts and prayers for my dear friend Bonnie. Her daughter Wendy tells me that the aneurysm is small and stable and that the doctors are considering a pacemaker to regulate her heart rate. So the prayers are working, praise God. Have a great Saturday, everyone.

That cup is scrumptious! Truly! I collect pretty cups & I give that a 10! Glad you found the Kindle charger! Don't you just hate disorder? Even if (technically) it was where you left it, it's all the house chaos that made you THINK it was lost! So THERE, you hateful old chaos! LOL! It IS coming along tho', Sweet Girl! Your house, I mean! And I think it would be very exciting to fix everything up to suit myself! I KNOW that part has to be FUN! Three HUGE cheers re: the great news about Bonnie! I will continue the prayers! And I did EXACTLY as YOU did! Let me real hair color do its thing! Strangely enough, EVERYONE tells me, "Kai, COLOR it again. You look so much YOUNGER with the red hair." I just tell them, "I WAS younger with the red hair. Now I'm OLDER so I LIKE my real color!" Bet yours is gorgeous! LOVE YOU! P.S. If you get a chance, check out LAST TRAIN FROM CUERNAVACA by Lucia St. Clair Robson. It's a wild ride & I loved it! I'd send you my copy but Loosh wrote me a nice note in it so it's a keeper!

I love your new little cup and it and the red transferware will be lovely on the shelf that Vann made and put up for you. You'll also be able to swap the lovely treasures up there as you choose to. Oh, your house is going to be more wonderful than it already was! Color me green ...!

Long ago I figured out why things are always in the last place we look - we stop looking because the item is found!!! :D HA!

So happy to hear that Bonnie is doing well. Thanks be to God! Prayers continue.

I hope to get to a thrift shop this week because I'm looking for a couple of things, but there are 3 medical appts for the in-laws on separate days so I'm dubious I'll get to go thrifting.

Hugs!

There must be something in the air ... I needed a change and went for a new cut today, too. In my case, I was hoping to cut off all the damage from a medication I stopped taking about 6 months ago. (I was also tired of having the same haircut as about every third woman in Dallas ;-)

I adore the little cup. I would have snapped it up in a heartbeat, too.

Unfortunately, I did a little hair cutting of my own yesterday. I always kick myself afterward, but it was driving me crazy. I let mine show the gray now. I can't stand the smell of those coloring dyes they use! I've earned every damned gray hair on my head.

I'm going all natural too. I had my hair cut to the longest layer & that took care of alot of the color. I love it now! just below the ears and almost one length. So easy to care for too.

Every day you have a new project--they are all so feminine and sweet. Your house will be all girly before long!
