Two Camels are ready to board the ark.
Next come the elephants.
I have been feeling oh so much better this week. After I got over the effects of driving to the guild meeting, my shoulder has been improving. Only short bouts of pain now. I didn't take even one Ibuprofen yesterday. Didn't need it. Weather forecasters are predicting snow, starting tonight and into tomorrow. But right now the sun is shining, and I'm feeling goooood.
I've been doing lots of handwork, since sitting at the sewing machine aggravates the shoulder and my lower back. Last night, I finished the camels for the Ark Quilt. Yesterday while walking Sophie, I thought of a great name for the quilt. I didn't write it down, so now I've forgotten it. It wasn't "Two By Two," but I think it did have the word "two" in it. Maybe it will come back to me.
I was thinking about what to do with the fabrics that will be left over from the Bunny Quilt once I've finished the log cabin blocks. There will be quite a bit. I love hearts, and they're so easy to hand applique, so I thought I would stitch up a couple of heart blocks and see how they look. I love them, don't you? My daughter Andy did too. So this will probably be her quilt when it's finished.
All of you (and Fly Lady too) were right about taking it easy, doing a little bit at a time, and my decluttering project would finally be done. Oh, it isn't done, but I can now see loads of progress. My home office room is a whole different place. Of course, I'm not responsible for all that progress. Andy did lots of the heavy work. When I'm sure the shoulder is well, I'm going to start painting and rearranging furniture in that room.
I still have plenty of junk to donate, give to family and friends, and discard--but oh the progress is nice.
I have done a little work at the sewing machine lately. I got four pillowcase for Operation Pillowcase finished. I have a couple more cut out, but I'm going to go ahead and get these in the mail then sew up the other two for the next batch.
Got to go do some bill-paying now (gag gag), then I'm going to the sewing room to prepare some more hand work blocks to stitch. And maybe do just a tad of machine sewing. Then Sophie and I will go for a walk in this nice (cold) sunshine before the snow gets here. Have a great day, everyone--and if you're one of the many people who are snowed in today, make a pot of soup, grab a blanket and a good book, and hibernate. That's my advice. Sophie concurs.

I am SO glad you are feeling better! Still take it easy-don't want to start hurting again! Hope you don't get too much snow-is it ever going to be spring? Not making soup tonight-making baked oatmeal! Comfort food and my hubby doesn't mind breakfast at dinner!Give a pat to Sophie for me!
Have an awesome day!
Hugs from cold and snowy Indiana

You've been a busy lady Susan. Love the Heart Blocks, and the camels, they look like camels with "attitude".
Enjoy your cold sunny walk.

You accomplish so much that I should hang my head!
Love your camels and hearts, stitching and fabrics, so hope you'll inspire me to consider what handwork to do in the evenings. Several, including an abandoned cross stitch project, come to mind. Now if I'll just DO them!
So happy to hear you've been feeling better and hope and pray the colder temperatures won't bother you. I really think taking it easy, with no heavy lifting is the ticket! I vote you have a paint/pizza party so several dear friends will come paint your new office with you and even help arrange the furniture when the paint is drying. Many hands make light work!
We're thawing a bit today, so I hope to see more of my car soon!
Hugs!

Love those hearts Susan ... those adorable camels too; and I was so happy to hear that this is a better week for you :) Being from down South, it's hard for me to imagine having that much snow as so many have right now; and I whole heartedly agree w/you and Sophie on your advice for our snowbound friends!

Love your work, I'm going to be a wee bit pedantic here and tell you that these are dromedaries (one hump, as camels have two).

You really do get a LOT accomplished! So glad your shoulder is better. What is the book for the club meeting? Aren't friends the best, best medicine!?
