...and every color in the rainbow! I had a blog comment from Mary Lou Weidman this morning. She expressed her love for Blackberry Creek and told me she was adding a link to her blog list. I did a happy dance right here in the middle of the living room. Well, actually my happy dance was more in the middle of my imagination. But you know.
I'm sure all you quilters must know Mary Lou. She's a quilter too, and a fabric and pattern designer, author and teacher. Her designs are known for their use of color and whimsy, and Mary Lou is the absolute Countess of Color and Queen of Whimsy, in my opinion.
I'm a fool for both color and whimsy; that's why Mary Lou is one of my favorite quilters. I haven't made one of her quilts, but I do have some of her books and patterns.
If for some reason you don't know this talented and fun lady, look her up. Click on the link to her blog above and get to know her wonderland world of designs. You won't be sorry.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh!! A comment from a famous quilter!!!! Touch you!
What joy-joy colors and designs Mary Lou uses. Her quilts just about sing! I will definitely visit her site in a moment.
Did you get much snow? It's snowing here again, but in tiny flakes.
Hope you're feeling great top to bottom!
Hugs!

How much fun to have her read your blog. I took a class from her a couple of years ago and really love her style. We got the snow here after you did - it is starting to fall out of the trees now but we still have a lot of ice on the streets.

I love her designs and use of color! You should be honored to be on her blog list. I have her as a favorite of mine.
Our snow is melting slowly!
Blessings,

Hi Susan ~ I have to admit that I've never heard of Mary Lou, but I enjoyed reading her blog and sidebar filled with all sorts of quotes and verses. Her use of color is amazing. How special that she reads Blackberry Creek!

I love the work that Mary Lou Weidman does! She was lined up to be one of the teachers at my Guild's Fall Seminar a couple years ago and I was so excited to take her course and I bought a book - Quilted Memories. Unfortunately there was not enough people registered in the class and it was canceled - totally disappointing!! I love the way she uses colour and fabric. I am still unhappy that the course did not happen...
No snow here - lots of rain and wind today and hopefully that ends soon for the Olympics.

Not being a quilter (tho' I ADORE and admire quilts!) I didn't know of Mary Lou Weidman. But I certainly understand how she would enjoy your blog! It's wonderful and REAL. And your quilt pieces are so terrific! I'm glad she wrote to you!
