I woke up this morning to the frantic sounds of a dog barking. As soon as I was fully conscious, I realized it wasn't Sophie's voice I was hearing, but somedoggie outside. I got out of bed and peaked through the blinds to see Bailey, a neighborhood canine who lives up the street, tail between her legs, barking fitfully at what remains of the two snowmen that the children across the street built Friday.
She would sneak up into the yard and bark bark bark bark bark as loud as she could, and then turn and run back into the street. It was a very funny sight to this human person; but I could tell that Bailey was greatly a'feared of these two strange creatures that were standing guard in Hunter and Brooke's front yard.
Below is some non-threatening snow art I collected from our Mini February Fury: a snow angel by my daughter Angela and a heart by my niece India.
I hope all my blogging friends have a Happy Valentines Day. If you don't currently have a significant other in your life, be sure to do something really special for yourself today.
Today, 16 years ago, Vann asked me to marry him, so this is a doubly special day for me. I miss my Valentine something awful, but I'm very very thankful for the years we had together. Happy Valentine's Day, Boo. As you used to say all the time, "I luuuuuuuv you."

Bless Bailey's heart! She's doing her job as best she can even tho the strangers won't leave!
Bless your heart, too, as you remember Vann and the joy and happiness you and he shared for more than 16 years. Be good to you today.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Love and hugs!

During the holiday season one of the yards on our walk had a polar bear with a slowly moving head out in the front yard. Every single day when we would get nearby, Elmo would slow down and bark at that silly polar bear.
Oh, and then one day, we were walking along the golf cart path and a cart full of ladies came roaring up to the tee. They greeted me and then Elmo started barking (to which I was embarrassed because I thought he was barking at them) & one of the ladies started laughing because he was barking at the golf club cover sticking out of the bag. It was the head of a dog --and actually pretty realistic and I am sure he thought it was a real dog sticking its head out at him!
Happy Valentine's Day, my Friend!

Happy belated Valentines Day! I hope you had a good day. This sounds like it was a special day for you and Vann and I'm glad you look back at it with sweet memories.
Love the dog! How cute is that? He must be so frustrated that those pesky snowmen won't leave the yard. We have a stuffed husky that Butters hisses and growls at everytime she walks by. She's certain it's of evil intent and out to get her. Animals are so funny.
