Happy Epiphany/12th Night, everyone. This is not a holiday that we celebrate here in the U.S., but for some reason I usually remember it. It's the end of the Christmas season, traditionally the day that the Wise Men visited Baby Jesus. Remember the song, "The Twelve Days of Christmas"? Well, this is the 12th one when her true love gave her that big mess of geese and dancers and pipers and partridges and maids and I don't know what all.
There's going to be another kind of Epiphany tomorrow on the part of some Texans in the city of Pasadena when the Alabama Crimson Tide rolls over the Texas Longhorns in a tsunami-like effort to secure its spot as No. 1 in the nation. Those beeves aren't going to know what hit 'em. Remember folks, you heard it here.
I know a few people who are actually going to attend the game. But truthfully I'd much rather stay home and watch it on tv and not have to contend with half-naked boys in war paint guzzling beer and hot dogs. Anyway, Pasadena is a long way from Leeds, Alabama--even to go watch Bama kick some Texas butt. Sophie and I will do just fine here in our warm Yellow House with a glass of chianti and a bowl of hot soup.
The weather here is making news all over the country. Gayle in northern Nevada says we hit the airwaves there. It's so cold, even Sophie was shivering this morning before she got in from her potty trip. The temps are scheduled to stay below freezing through the weekend, and snow is still in the forecast for tomorrow. Brrrrrrr. It's still the Sunny Southland; the sun is shining like crazy. It's just not giving off any heat. At least not so much as you can tell.
ROLL TIDE!!!

ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm about to bundle up to go get the mail but our high might, perhaps, and may reach the heat wave temperature of 44*F here today. It's been so cold for the last week here in Virginia, too. Love those cozy flannels and sweats!
Happy Epiphany to you and Sophie!
Hugs!
