Our annual guild holiday party was such fun. The food, supplied by our administrative board, was delicious. There was no program, as usual for December, but the show-and-tell provided enough eye candy that no program was needed.
Our sweet member, Roy, who has been responsible for setting up and taking down our display poles, has had to resign the job due to family health issues, and no one has yet stepped up to fill his mighty big shoes. So quilters had to do show-and-tell the old fashioned way, by holding up their quilts, or having friends do so, while they told about them.
One of the bees had challenged themselves to make recipe quilts. Each quilt contained a recipe that was special to the quilter. Below are a couple of examples
I was suprised to see a very special visitor to our guild today. I met Carrie , through our mutual love for blogging. It turns out that she lives in the Birmingham areas too, and that she met another of our guild members, Judy W., through blogging. So Carrie came to guild with Judy today. It was so good to meet you in person, Carrie. The photo below shows Judy (left) and Carrie showing-and-telling about Carrie's quilt that she made for her husband for their second anniversary.
Please sit back and enjoy the rest of today's virtual quilt show from our Christmas guild party.
Gwen C. transformed a thrift store vest into the beautiful work of art she's wearing below.
And speaking of red shoes, look what I found (below) gracing the feet of Virginia, who's displaying her pumpkin quilt above.
Thanks to everyone who has sent me Santa cards. I have received some really great ones and, believe it or not, no two alike.
A couple of you have asked for the pattern for the Santa Bonnet Sue block. I'll try to get that posted within the next day or so.
As you probably know, you can click on any image to enlarge it for a better view. Have a great afternoon, everyone. Still grey and drizzly here. But not cold at least. Hope your weather is sunny and bright.

Thanks for posting the photos Susan. I was unable to make it to the Coffee today, so it was a nice treat to be able to participate, without sharing my lovely germs.

Oh, I REALLY enjoyed reading this post and seeing not only the wonderful array of quilted pieces, but the beautiful ladies who made them. They TRULY are a lovely group of women with the sweetest faces! I wish someone had turned the camera on our gorgeous Susan, tho'! That Sunbonnet Santa quilt is just THE cutest thing! I love the one you did with the green 'cause it draws the eye straight to it! ALL of the quilts made me HAPPY! Thank you for capturing your gathering! LOVE YOU!

So sweet of you to post pictures! And I'm also very thankful that you posted the one of the 'farm quilt'. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Such a blessing to actually meet you in person and to be around people who share such a common interest!

Susan, came via another blog site. The quilts are so beautiful. I am not a quilter but an admirer of those who quilt and can be so beautifully artistic.
Have a wonderful day!

I loved them all, great job on the photos! My favorite is the four panel jungle animal applique, did you notice the quilting design was the same leaf used in the applique? WOW! You are so lucky to have such a wonderful guild.
