Countdown to Christmas

PC1

I finished the last pillowcase, and Sophie and I delivered them to our little buddies. They weren't home, so we left the bag hanging on the inside of the storm door.

Then we went for a long walk, and now even Sophie is tired. And I'm really really tired. I'm going to take a bit of a siesta, then I hope I feel up to baking cookies this afternoon. Tomorrow I have to clean house and go to the grocery store for soup makings for Christmas Eve.

I want to thank everyone who has sent me goodies and cards and Santas in the mail. I might not get around to personally thanking everyone right away, but you will eventually hear from me. Just know that every time Shane (my mailman) shows up with a new package or two, I'm just like a kid on Christmas morning. Sophie gets into the act too, and we usually have paper and boxes everywhere when we're finished. Thank you all, my dear friends. Your thoughtfulness is very appreciated.

Below are some more pics of the pillowcases. And after them, some photos of the Cardinal Tree, which I guess is finished. I never have hung the little red balls, but I'm not counting on them at this point.

I really like your cardinal tree. I Just bought two cardinals this year - my first two to add to my christmas decorations. I really like them. I could see how a collection might start.

Your christmas pillowcases are very cute! Is that ribbon on the trim or is it fabric? Very cute. I am sure they will be enjoyed immensely. Enjoy your nap this afternoon!

What great retro looking Christmas fabric. You are a trooper to have done those for the kids.

I am always crazy about birds so your cardinal tree looks like it should stay up all year to me!

The pillow cases are so cute! What set of instructions did you use?

Love the cardinal tree and all of it's wonderful adornments and ornaments. I see the little tile I sent with 2 cardinals and a shining little crystal that used to be part of my beloved chandelier. Feel the love!

Hope you feel rejuvenated by that nap!

Hugs!

You are NOT going to believe this, but I - the non-sewing goofball - want to MAKE some of those pillowcases. Please - is there a pattern or did you 'wing' it? I LOVE them and I can imagine making LOADS in different fabrics. You did such a beautiful job (as ALWAYS)& I know the children will be thrilled. And your Cardinal tree? So pretty! You and Ms. Sophie get some rest now. I just love you BUNCHES!

Susan, they turned out so great. I know they will love them. My grandson had a favorite red pillowcase, and he used it until it came apart in shreds. Finding a replacement wasn't easy.

Your cardinal tree is so pretty and so special. Every time I see a cardinal, I think of you.

Take care, dear friend. I know you must feel Vann's presence during your days.

Enjoy your time with your family.

Aren't those pillowcases darling?? It was so good of you to work at the kitchen today, too. Susan, you are such a kind person. I hope you recover and have some blessings of your own this holiday season. You are in my thoughts.
