Fabric Fun

B Bunnies 2

My plate is truly too full with projects, but I'm having fun. The fibro pain has backed off a bit and I'm feeling like making some progress, which I've been doing.

I have two or the ten bunny blocks made for my Log Cabin Bunnies quilt. Well, except for that green bunny's eye. I was sleepy last night when I finished him and didn't notice that I hadn't embroidered his eye.

B October I stitched a bunch more pieces for the October Garden quilt yesterday afternoon. And this morning, my book arrived with instructions for the Snowball Quilt Challenge. So I got my B Fabroc French General fats de-selvaged and they're in the washing machine now. I never prewash fabrics, but Nicole's post convinced me that I didn't want to take a chance of bleeding with these dark reds.

B Emmaus The main thing that I have to finish this week is putting a backing on this Walk to Emmaus banner that somebody in my Walk to Emmaus community painted. It doesn't need quilting, just a backing to give it body and let it hang smoothly, so that shouldn't take long.

How many times I can't tell you has my doctor warned me about trying to do too much when I'm feeling better. But today I choose to be stubborn and not follow his advice. It has been a while since I've been feeling this good. I'm going to take advantage of it and have some sewing fun.

I'm like you Susan...My doctor is constantly telling me if I overtax myself, I will pay for it later, well, so be it. When I feel well enough to sew, or do something extra in the house, I do it because I know that with the cold weather will come more days when I truly have too much pain and fatigue to do anything at all. I love the bunnys, they are so very cute, oh I wish I could still embroidery. Those are the projects that really make me miss it. Ah well, no matter, I have other wonderful things to do. Now about that green bunnys eye! I though you had finished it in a soft color. I didn't realize until I enlarged the picture that it was the design on the fabric that looked like the outline of the eye being closed. The Walk to Emmaus banner is lovely, I would like to see it after you have it hanging up. Well, happy sewing and good luck in the Snowball challenge. God bless.

WOOOOHOOOOO! It makes me SMILE to know my sweet friend is feeling better & enjoying herself! Yes, I SUPPOSE we should TRY to follow our doctors' advice MOST of the time. But sometimes, we need to say, "PHOOEY! I'm not wasting a minute of my feel-good time taking it easy!" So have FUN, Susan! Quilt away! LOVE YOU!
P.S. The bunnies are so gorgeous!

My list grows and grows, especially books to read... I know what you mean - some days I'm totally surprised not to ache somewher or have to take advil - I overdo and realize it usually the next day. But - that's what we do! Anyway, can't keep a good woman down! Enjoy!

Way to go, girlfriend!! Love the bunnies, and I hope to find that quilt book as I think AMIL would enjoy it and then I could borrow it!!

Hope the aches stay far away and that this sewing/washing/Emmaus marathon won't bother you at all.

Hugs!

I'm so glad you're feeling better, but...well, I won't preach 'cause I know you've heard it all before! Just take care of yourself.

I've never pre-washed either, seemed like too many extra steps...washing, drying, ironing...I've got enough of that to do. But I read Nicole's blog too and I'm gonna get some of those color catchers (if only for the reds!).

The bunnies are delightful. And I, like Nancy, thought the green bunnies eye was there but it was hte floral print. I just thought he was sleeping. Goes to show I should wear my glasses when reading. I love the blanket stitching.

So happy that you are feeling well, Susan. All of your quilts are going to be lovely, I look forward to seeing them finished. Like you, I like to have handwork or knitting when I'm watching TV, without it I would probably fall asleep.
Have a great weekend.
Happy sewing, Ruth
